My rattle sounds like putting a piece of cardboard in my bicycle spokes when I was a kid. Would this be the same rattle you are discussing? It is really loud and intermittent and seems to be coming from the right rear of the Z.

 

this is what i come up with, a pipe insulator on the shocks to prevent it from rattleling, isnsted of the rubberban.

 

Just joined this club. Great info/pics shared and thanks for the tips on the rattle issues. I have 05 CVT and my rattle is from the front driver side. It only does it when driving on uneven road at low speed (<25mph). Suspension seems fine though. Took it to two different Nissan dealerships and they don't know where the noise is coming from. All bolts and parts are good in thier perspectives but they did agree that the noise is there. Anyone experienced this?

 

it looks like is the hinge on driver side hood is worn out.
i had that same noise with my car with 20k miles on it the dealer barely dismantle the dash to find nothing.I was back forth with the service adviser (good service adviser, one of a few) for two months aat the end they keep my car for two weeks check the chassis for cracks, they was worry since the car was separate by autech to strength the chassis. until a body shop they refer their cars found out the driver side hinge was the problem.
