Default Project NISMO TT

Hi All,

2008 NISMO 350Z, only mod is a 3" Greddy Turbo Ti-C TD Cat Back right now.

The time has come. I want to go the TT route for the NISMO, have done a fair amount of R&D through the forum here, and I have decided to go with the GTM system. I got about $11K for parts for this first series of modifications and I believe this should be a decent set of supporting mods as well. Price on GTM website is just a hair under $10K, so hopefully they cut me a bit of a deal on the entire package and it should be right around what I want all taxed and shipped.

Here is the proposed list of goodies:

- GTM HR 350Z (TUNER) TWIN TURBO KIT - GTM-350ZHR-V1-TT011010

- GTM 3" RESONATED TEST PIPES - GTM-HR000-R

- CLUTCH & FLYWHEEL PACKAGE
> Exedy Stage 1 Organic Clutch Kit - part no: 06804
> Exedy Lightweight racing Flywheel - part no: NF04
> Pilot Bushing - part no: 32202-B9500
> Throwout Bearing - part no: 30502-69F10

- HD CENTRIC METAL SLAVE CYLINDER UPGRADE - part no: ZSP2006

- GTM EMS & FUEL TURNKEY SOLUTION KIT - part no: 512-07-1000

My goal is to run around 7-8 psi of boost and make somewhere in the region of 425-450rwhp with this setup.

I would also like to add the TDC 350Z / G35 Differential Brace; can't seem to find the Injected Performance one on their website though at the moment.

I am just waiting to hear back from GTM on a final package price for everything.

Anyways, I'll add to this as I start the build, hopefully within 3-5 weeks!

Nice!

Regarding your decision to go with GTM, was this because there pretty much aren't any other options for kits out there? lol.

If those are the power figures you're after, then why go TT? The stage 1 kit can reach those numbers with proper tuning and pully. Also the SC kit is less expensive and less complex to install (less expensive to install).

^^^ + 1 I am wondering the same thing. Unless he is looking for a kit with adjustability/growth.

I would not recommend the diff brace! If you wanna do it correctly, go with the SPL solid diff bushings. The brace on the aluminum subframe lacks strength. I also had issues with clunking noise, which I have heard of other members here having as well.

That's the beauty of this SC kit. You can go stage 1,1.5, and 2.

Sure you can adjust gains on the SC kit by running a smaller pulley, but it requires so much more boost for the same gains of a TT setup. Many are running 10 psi or so to achieve 450-475 whp. I wouldn't feel comfortable running more then 8-9 lbs of boost with stock internals.

Don't believe anyone when they say they are running 500+whp on a stock motor. Sure it will run, but won't for long. Even on the r35 GTR's motor. People have snapped the connecting rods when increasing the boost of the car on a stock motor. I would say run 7psi.

Lakeside is right. To get higher gains you have to run more psi. That being said, you can still hit 420whp ish at 8 psi I believe. But hey if you got the cash to burn go TT. Whats another 2.5-3k lol

^but you also know that you can't compare one dyno to another dyno in the country.

I think I would personally go with the supercharger but I like being conservative. Just seems like turbos on a non-turbo always have issues.

Yeah I went back and forth a bit between the TT and SC. It's really just that I have never had a turbo car and want one.

I plan to install everything myself with some help from my buddies who have both done a few turbo installs / builds themselves.

The only real other kit I was looking at was the Greddy Kit, but I prefer the Turbo's used in the GTM kits.

I know there should be a much longer list of items I should get with this, but I am hoping I'll be OK with what I have selected.....Next spring should be a long list of supporting mods.....

Good to know about that brace....thx....I'll look into the bushings

Anyways, I am still waiting to hear back from GTM on a package price......I'll keep this updated as things start to happen.

I know you cannot compare dynos over the country but the dynostys dyno has been know to read low just saying his goals were attainable. Also it is now small task to do the install yourself ...its pretty straight forward just very time consuming.
