Venom system up and running
I finally have my Venom VCN-1000 nitrous system up and running with a 75 shot jet and it's kick ***! I had to add a bottle warmer to get the pressure up to 1000 PSI.
The whole system works off of one toggle switch mounted in the fold out ash-tray. The bottle warmer is powered through a relay, wired through switched on power, so I didn't have to add an extra switch for it. N20 is initiated at WOT.
The only problem I'm having is that the solenoid leaks if I leave the bottle open all of the time.
Does anyone know of a solenoid that can handle a bottle being open all the time?
Terry

purge is to simply remove the gas that has built up in the line, wet and dry kits have this problem. But not that big of an issue at small shots.
Get a electric bottle opener. Close the bottle when no in use, and open it when you want to go.

The line is just an extension of the bottle.

Actually, the nitrous doesn't go bad, it just changes state from a liquid to a gas. This causes an issue because the jet is sized for liquid at a given pressure. Due to the decreased density of the vapor the balance (nitrous to gasoline) is VERY rich when the system is activated.
The larger issue with leaving the bottle open is that the nitrous solenoid will leak through allowing nitrous to enter the cylinders when the engine is not running. The nitrous will accumulate until you start the engine, at which time you will experience a severe back fire that WILL damage your engine. It's not a questions of "if" but "when".
