Default Edelbrock kit results!!

well i have to say it, YOU GUYS WERE COMPLETELT RIGHT!! lol

heres the deal, installed kit, instructions with kit are wrong, had to go threw edelbrock tech support for help with wiring, they do have the new instructions.

everything working, WOT,FUEL ENRICHMENT, but we dyno'd on just stock setup nitrous off a/f's were 12.7-13.0 and made 230whp, and then activated the kit which activates the fuel enrichment module, and it worked blew out blk smoke and bogged, so we said lets shot it, then we did, .042 pill which is 80-90 shot and spark knocked badly, so we added 2 gallons of 110vp to my tank and ran it for 10-15mins and then try'd again, spark knock gone!, but we hit wot at 4k and the a/f went to 10.8 and by 4600-4700rpms came back up to 13.5-14.0, so we let out, needless to say it isnt tuned or designed right! theres know way you could shoot a 125 to it!! PERIOD!! it made 310whp 315trq.

heres what im gonna try

i bought a fuel solenoid, line, and wet nozzle, im gonna convert it to a wet system, but, im gonna leave the enrichment module and wot module hooked up, this will richen it up threw the ecu along with the wet kit and i can tune the fuel with the jetting of the nozzle ( if its rich smaller fuel pill and if its lean bigger fuel pill) and i will still have the wot which is a nice feature.

ill let you know the outcome of this by this weekend or the first of the week!

that kinda sucks that u bought a complete edelbrock kit and now u have to modify it to properly work with ur car. Hopefully you have good luck with it, and dont have to spend too much money modifying it to work with ur car.
I also congratulate u on having self control and stopping a run run on your car that could've potentially killed ur car.

Good luck and keep us posted!

heres a update, got the wet kit and the modules that came with the kit hooked up and tested it today, i ran it with a 46n/20f, i went smaller on the fuel side because of having the enrichment module,(today was the first day ive had to try it because this rain and cold weather) these pills are suppose to be a 90-100shot, but when i tested it the bottle pressure was only 780-800 so it felt more like a 75 or so, but i was really happy with it, it still feels a little rich but overall very strong, 1st gear i can spray it from a roll and when i hit 2nd it smokes the tires for about 15-20ft, i will be changing pills to a 68N/30F later this week and tuning it on the dyno, but i really like the WOT Module and the safety of also having the fuel enrichment module with the wet kit, ill post dyno results as soon as i can.

Any thoughts on how to dial in the richness? You dont think stepping up to the larger pills is going to make it worse? Im intrested to see how your results come out, and the dyno sheets! Keep us posted, and congrats on getting that sucker dialed in!

a 68 nitrous jet on a stock bottom end is crazy... i would consider maybe a 53-55 max, that is about a 130-135 to the wheels according to different nitrous companies

and as you stated, bottle pressure between 750-800 is not even close to what it will feel like, it is night and day from 800 up to 1000 feels about like half the horsepower

i can smoke my tires for 50 feet in fourth gear with a 53N and 28F

no traction on the street in first second third at all, i need a nitrous controller, i just dont have the time to bother with it right now...

those zex settings actually look exactly like the settings for an 8 cylinder engine.

i called NX and NOS and spoke to guys on the phone and asked them exactly for our fuel pressure and engine size what they both would recommend around 52-53 and 28-30 on the fuel and both said that should be right under a 150 shot

i cant get any traction with my setup on the street with the stock tires in frist second third gear at all, and fourth it will get sideways as hell going 70 down the street, so i wouldnt think about going any larger with my jets

try with those jet sizes and get it dynoed again and see what the results are...

ALSO do a search for a nitrous jet calculator on google, it will come up with many different ones that you can put in 6 cylinder, stock fuel pressure, put 1000 on the bottle pressure and it will tell you the HP exactly, hope this helps

i used a 34 and a 21 on the zex kit and gave me 352 whp with 310 wtq. just add a bigger jet on the fuel line if you are running lean. so gains were 100+- whp

I was running 52/33. Anything under 50mph punch was insane!

Sorry it didn't work out for you 1bad....hate to say it, but I told you so. The Z is not an american car, and the only company I will ever trust with my expensive toy is Nitrous Express. Good luck with your Edlebrock kit....be careful and follow the rules of nitrous.

u have awesome times but what did u use to retard timing? cause 125 shot is big and you need to retard at least like 6 degrees

i am not retarding the timing with anything right now, i know my setup is not the safest, i will have my utec soon, i just paid off all my unsecured debt so i am waiting about two more weeks to get it, then i should be able to run a little faster with it safer....

dyno'd today!!

ended up with 312whp and 360ft lbs, a/f's were 11.1 the whole time.

Question to you guys??
the dyno operator told me the reason i didnt see more whp is because the NOS nozzle i have and he told my buddy with a viper the same thing.

he said no matter what jetting we used the nozzle would only flow about 100whp max, and he has seen it alot and had to change the nozzles to the NX shark nozzle, because the viper made 562whp and 690ft lbs 2 weeks ago on a 150shot, today he re-jetted it for 200 and made 578whp and 798ft lbs.

so we both noticed alot of trq increase while the whp stayed about the same as it did with smaller jetting.

let me know what you guys have heard about this.

thanks
