Window switch just shuts the flow off between rpm points you specify (going off the MSD here since I have one). This is a bit safer than the WOT switch because, if your like some people on here, you can shift without ever letting off the throttle (Alberto ). What that can cause is pooling of the NOS, usually in your plenum. If this happens to ignite for whatever reason, you have problems.

Anyway, thats a very VERY brief explination on what the window switch does. It works the same as the UTEC just off RPM only (where the utec can do manifold pressure, tempatures, etc etc). If you want to be safe, get a window switch. If you want to use ZEX, don't get one. MSD has to specially modify thier window switch to work with the ZEX kit. (Something to do with the box they use and the way the MSD works with it).

If you really have your heart set on it, start basic and work your way up. NOS is like any other form of FI kit, in that you can always expand on it. Start with a basic kit, and 75 shot. Get a feel for the trq, and the power. If it strikes you, upgrade, if not, your not out much.

Thanks for the explanation. One more question. The zex kit happens to have a fuel cutoff when the kit senses its unsafe to spray. This seems to be pretty similar to the window switch except that it is automatic. Would you guys think this feature would suffice?

I run a ZEX kit, but I haven't heard of that. Of course I run through my UTEC. Honestly, start with a small shot, 70 or 100 and work up from there. Get a feel for it just on the WOT switch. Once you put the kit in, use it and understand how it all works you can make a better judgement of what you want/need.

Ok I'll definitely try that. I have a tuner that is a personal friend of mine that knows how to work with this but I just want to get some opinions from you guys since you guys have been using this stuff for a while. Is there any cheaper alternative to the UTEC by any chance. I've been looking into the apexi s-afc but am not sure if it's all that great with nitrous.

NX Maximizer, just do a google for it, its not a full EMU solution, but good if your just running NOS.
