Default Temporary Satisfaction, Nitrous

Sup Fella's,

I own an '05 DB 350Z, i enjoy racing my pretty much stock Z as often as i can. Plus i drive pretty hard on a daily basis. I don't really have to need to have more on a daily basis but i would like to go faster on the weekends.

I was searching for Nitrous kits for the Z and was disappointed that i can only use 75 shot safely. Am also planning on getting a kit for my Mustang (150-shot ZEX kit, purge system, bottle heater, kenne bell boostapump etc..) and wanted to install a nice setup in my Z.

However if 75 shot is all the Z can take i don't find it worth it.
What is your opinion on this? is 75 shot really the safe limit on VQ engine's? (SAFE being the main word, don't want to blow my engine)

All i want is some mid-high 12 second passes on slicks every once in a month.
(Also with a canned tune, no custom tune, because there is no dynotuner in the country)

Thnx in advance

Have you ever driven in a car with a 75 shot? I'm going to say no, because that's quite a power difference for any car. On the Z that's about a 25% increase in power ( think about it). And I'm not going to flame on you for not searching, but there's a nitrous thread specifically for this (these) kind of question(s). For a quick answer, the Z can handle a 100 shot safely on a stock motor and I personally haven't heard of anyone blowing their motor with it. However, I think you have a lot of searching and studying to do about N20 before you decide to put it in either car IMHO.

whoops, my bad...
Thnx! that thread helps alot.

Question that still remain though:
Best gas is 89octane, is it safe to run that or will i need to use racing fuel whenever i use the nitrous?
There is no dynotuning option, can i run a canned tune with risk of detonation? (Any tips on who's tunes to use?)
Do i need to load a special tune before i use my nitrous and switch back when not using it?

You really can use whatever octane you prefer, but obviously the 'best' is going to be high test.

Octane ratings vary between countries, depending on how they calculate it. It could very well be that 89 octane there is 103 octane here, or it could be 76 octane here; don't really know unless he posts the measurement method (which is posted on pumps in the US, not sure about there).

The new ZEX kits specifically for the 350Z comes with 55, 75, and 100HP jets.
Only thing is you should have some sort of engine management to adjust the timing for the 100 shot.
