I think for something as potentially dangerous as nitrous, where so many things can go wrong its important to go with a tusted and proven company.
Having said that, I decided to go with NX, just the brand I felt most comfortable with after all my research, and they are the only company who rates thier power shot at RWP not engine!

No, NX is NOT the only company that rates their shots at the wheels. Also, don't buy into the name-brand stuff. NX just happens to be the favorite around here, but that doesn't mean the others suck.

NX, haven't even had my first shot yet!

I have heard many good things about Dyno Tune.

When you install the solenoids from Dynotune, make sure you apply copious amount of teflon tape or they'll leak.

DONT use teflon tape.

Use teflon paste. You don't want tape anywhere on the nitrous line incase a piece breaks loose.

Also only use it on NPT fittings. AN fittings don't need sealant of any kind.

EDIT: I just finished my install of all dynotune products last weekend. Fuel solenoid has no leaking issues. Haven't sprayed yet so don't know bout the Nitrous.

I had a Zex wet kit and loved it, very easy install. Hp is rated at the wheels had just a 55shot in the nozzle.

See, I HAD teflon paste, but that would just leak and the paste would bubble and gargle (gas escaping). Tape was the only way to stop it (I even tried loctite, but for fear of closing the solenoid shut I wiped it off). As long as you don't wrap the whole fitting with teflon tape (just the line part, not close to the tip), you should be fine. Many people I know don't have problems using teflon tape. Just read the direction manual over and over (memorize it) and take the necessary precaution, you should be fine.

No, ZEX is measured at the crank.

Yea i guess that works. I haven't had any issues yet with the paste.. Knock on wood..

Hopefully my luck continues. Fuel leaks are a real *****. I had a few with the Fuel Taps.

?? Are you sure about that??

When I dyno'd my Z last year with a ZEX 75-shot, it was almost exactly a 75hp difference at the wheels from stock.
5AT in 4th Stock: 212.62
4th with 75HP shot: 289.78

Difference of 77.16HP at wheels.

I may be wrong, then. I just always heard that ZEX was weaker as it was measured at the crank rather than at the wheels. Plus, my friend had a ZEX kit and sprayed 100 shot. His shot felt weak and I feel a bigger kick with my less than 50 shot, granted his was on an M35.

Stop putting words into my mouth, nowhere in my post did I say any other company sucked and I made sure that all information given was my opinion!
I refuse to get into a pissing match with anyone over brand names, thats why I said "I was most comfortable with after all my reasearch, I wasnt bashing any other product so dont turn it into that,
Why would a Mod create drama in a thread?

Damn, calm down. You just sounded like everybody else on the forums where they buy into all the hype with the name brand stuff. If that wasn't the case, then I apologize.

And please, don't give me that ******** about how a mod is supposed to be ____ or isn't supposed to ____. Mods/admins are like every other member on the forum, except in that we do all the legwork. If you consider that "drama," I'm guessing you've never seen what goes on in the rest of the FI forums.

edit - I have a question for the ZEX owners and I guess the others too. So, if ZEX's shots are rated at the wheels, why do most people think they're measured at the crank? Do they have different sized pills for each shot ratings? Garym and CoachK, what are your pill sizes for your shots (75 or 100 or whatever it is)?

edit - CoachK, when is your next run at the drag strip going to happen? I thought you were going for 10s? Please tell me that's still happening.

Its still going to happen...I'm still breaking in the new motor. On my stock block/motor I dyno'ed at 425 on boost and with the 35 shot added it was 460 exactly. I'll have to check my little black book for the pill size I was using on both the 35 shot and the 75 shot.

You use NX jets for Zex kits, or atleast that's what I did....

For the 75-shot I was using 21-fuel/40-nitrous.

Here is my Dyno slip from last year.

I forgot to clean the CAI filter and it was choking the motor.
And my 1-step colder plugs were all fouled up (I found out afterwards), so the graph looks like an earthquake hit.

The 212.62 was the last pass I made and it was without nitrous, motor only with UTEC tune.

The 289.78 was on a tuned UTEC map with 75HP shot 21/40.
The 276.61 was on Stock ECM with 75HP shot 21/40.
