Default I need help asap w/ zex install!!!

I've wired everything together and got everything hooked up and then I tried to program the Nitrous Management System by pressing the button and make it "learn" to where it shoots the nitrous at wide open throttle but it makes the "solenoid clicking noise" when the throttle plate is closed. Any ideas? Also what color wire do I hook up the "white" TPS wire from the nitrous management unit to? I hooked it to the "Green" TPS Wire from the throttle body. Just making sure I hooked up that correctly. Any ideas of how to make it "learn" to where it sprays at WOT.

Go through all the wiring over and over, and when your done, do it 3 more times. If not, then bring out the test light.

the safest way to do this is pick the pin from the computer harness....that way youre not trying to decide which one is green. it also keeps from any corrosion from occuring at the harness.

I called up ZEX and they're sending me a TPS Resistor Wire that I never got. They said that the ZEX Management Unit is really sensitive to the voltage curve and after I install it, then it should do the job. If not, I gotta call back and then get further directions of help.

the resistor wire is really intended to keep the car from throwing codes, a majority of the time it isn't necessary. I have the same zex kit and it didn't require said wire. I would look elsewhere for the problem. Did you check the voltage range of the tps wire with a multimeter?

I have the same kit and didn't need the resistor.
What year is your Z?
Did you pull the intake tube off to manually open the butterfly and set the TPS?
It doesn't work unless you do it by hand, or hold the throttle all the way down while engine is running (not recommended).

I have an '03 Z. Which wire did you tap into? I tapped into the green wire. I did the whole manually open the throttle and all that jazz.

No I havn't checked the voltage yet. I will after I get the wire tomorrow.

make sure as you add throttle that the voltage goes up...I think from 0 to 5v is what you're looking for.

+1 on not needing the resistor. A buddy of mine installed the ZEX kit on a M35 and didn't have issues like the ones you're having.

Gary, why do you not recommend pressing the throttle all the way down while the engine is running? That's how I did it.

Here's why I think it doesn't matter (and I reset my voltage every once in a while to account for weather changes which also changes the output voltage):
-you go WOT in a gear and that doesn't hurt your engine (same should apply in neutral, given that you're not holding it down forever playing tag with the rev limiter)
-the voltage changes to the desired level much faster than the RPM will climb sitting in neutral (electricity vs. mechanical... guess which is faster?)

Thus, by the time you go WOT for half of a second, the voltage changed (which THEN signals the throttle body to open as much as it can) already and your RPM still hasn't climbed past 4K.

Correct. However, depending on the climate and on the car, the voltage will vary. One should re-"teach" the TPS every once in a while so that it sprays only when it's truly WOT at any given time.

Currently, I think mine's around 4.3V, but when I first installed it (much colder), I saw it go up to 4.8V.

It's confirmed...the resistor wire made it work. I didn't change anything else or messed with any other wires and the resistor wire did the trick. and it is the green wire that you tap into on a '03 350z anyways; I don't know about other models.
