Default Anyone running Nitrous with Vortech?

As I'm sure many of you turbo guys know, vortech's just don't make enough power. I don't want to spend the money for turbos but I was wondering about adding a 100 or 75 shot on top of my vortech running around 12 psi.

Any input appreciated.

Why don't you just get a bigger blower ? I am sure there is a larger frame turbo that will fit up to the brackets on that kit. They make cog blowers that will support 2000+ HP, you just have to size it properly, no different then a turbo upgrade. You could even sell your old one to get back some money.

Add a 50 shot, I can beat my friend with my 100 shot in his Vortech Z with the 3.12pr something bigger pulley.

SO Vortech with N20 FTW!

I don't know if there's just crazy fitment issues or what. Some guys tried T trims and Si trims and talked about E trims. I'd be interested in whatever anyone has to offer, I do daily drive my car though. I usually drive it without the SC belt on though so that's not a huge deal. I've seen several rustangs and american cars with huge blowers but I still cannot figure out why no one has done this on a Z. Anyway, is nitrous a problem?

There have been a few people who added nitrous on top of their supercharger before. A lot of them are customers of Performance Factory. Jeremy should know (now with AAM) better than anybody else. Direct him to this thread so he could shed some light for all of us.

U can drive with the supercharger belt off? How does that work exactly, isnt the car tuned for boost? Or are u just not reving the engine enough? Please explain.

Well I see that you have Osiris which is what I'm about to have. I was able to do it with the SS box and the UTEC and the stock ECU without any piggy back with no noticeable problems. I'll have to talk to the tuners about doing this with Osiris. I'll find a way one way or another. Also when I have driven it without the belt on I wasn't exactly trying to race people...keepin it under 5k

you can run a car without a blower belt hooked up just fine. Mapping may be off, but if the car has no boost, then it will never get into the positive pressure side of the tune mapping.

Nitrous on a blower is fine, I am just not a big fan of running two power adders.

If you have a stock block I would only run a 25 shot of nitrous. The Tq hits pretty hard on a 25 shot with a vortech. Jeremy now with AAM did a vortech N2O build and with a 25 shot added a pretty good amount of TQ.

why are you selling the impeller?

I have a built motor, should I run some sort of nitrous setup to boost torque at low rpms?

Im going a different direction with my car.

If your built you should do the 928 impeller and rev to the sky or go with a t-trim....A little nitrous never hurt.

The cost of doing nitrous right would cost more then the impeller upgrade (t-trim is still quite $$$) and would provide boost without bottle refills every few weeks which add up a $4 a lb.

I had nitrous, i enjoy boost on demand more. you dont have to worry about heating a bottle, purge, window switches..all that extra wiring....bleh

If you have a built motor, then I would throw some nitrous in there. A 50-75 shot should be pretty nice.

tell me about the 928 impeller. if you're selling it please respond asap. I'm putting final touches on my car before $650 tuning...I won't be buying anything for awhile after that.
