If you have Nitrous read this!!!
Well is time to get busy w a Nitrous kit... I'm gonna go w Zex because of the TB module (if you think other brand is better let me know why) I'm gonna buy the Window switch also, but the thing is that it have to be modificated to work in our VQ35 ( they change the way that the switch work inside... work in just one cylinder not 4, 6 or 8 like the normal one)... MSD have this Switch already mod. the part # is MSD-89561 and is around $70.00 but I dont find it anywhere, Summit have it but for Nov. 18... anyone knows any websites of MSD dealers?
Thanks!
Thanks!
I think there were a few people that had problems with the Zex kit- I remember McDan specifically but thought there were other. You may want to do a search to see if you can find some more info.
Check my sig for my 1/4 mile time with the ZEX kit on a G35. And yes, you can use a 150 shot with the solenoids that come with the kit.
As for the window switch, I waited three weeks for mine, bought locally, but special order from MSD. There are several web sights that list the part, but it is a special order item. Check out jegs.com.
Also, the part number 89561 needs to be modified as well to work with the voltage in the coil-over wire. You must send it to MSD for the modification.

So you wait for the MSD-89561 3 weeks and then send it to the factory to modify?
so is better to buy the normal one (MSD-8956) and send it to mod. to the factory... less time but little more $... rigth!

Actually I waited for 3 weeks then tried for 1 month to get it hooked up; MSD told me it would work, then one day recently after many calls, another tech told me that it wouldn't work (which it would not), so I sent it in. Expect a 10-12 day turnaround for the modification to be made.
It would be maybe $10 more expensive to buy the 8956; but I believe they charge for the modification to that particular unit whereas they are charging nothing to modify the 89561.
FYI - you still need to purchase more stuff:
1) MSD high current relay (required for use with ZEX) ~$26
2) RPM modules (to set switch activation) ~$24 x 2 sets = $48
Total = $74 plus the cost of the window switch.
