3. How long to purge? (I don't have a interior pressure gauge yet just on the bottle)

4. Any other pointers for the track? I plan to try it out next weekend after my tune for the 100shot. My best N/A is 13.2@104 in a G35.

Nitrous is $5-$5.50lb here.
I swear I answered you a few minutes after you posted. Anyway, ZYouL8R's pretty much got it. I'll add a couple of things, though.

1. It heavily depends on how much you have in the bottle, how big of a shot, and for how long you spray each time. I have an auto heater, but I do everything manually. Depending on the factors I mentioned above, it's sometimes better to leave it on, sometimes better to turn off.

2. Make sure your VDC/TCS is off, have enough fuel (nitrous uses more gas than you'd think), and dial in my bottle pressure.

3. You purge until you see the nitrous cloud coming out (air = clear; nitrous = white). You purge to clear the lines of non-nitrous gas. Thus, bottle psi doesn't have anything to do with purging process, unless you're like me and use purge to reduce bottle psi after overheating.

4. Just start experimenting with things and you'll figure out what works and what doesn't work for you. 13.2@104 was pretty much where I ended up N/A before getting bored and moving onto nitrous. Looks like you're familiar with drag racing. Adding nitrous isn't much different; things just go by faster. Just make sure your auto (I think) can shift fast enough (or at the proper shift point) with nitrous.

thanks for the info. I should be good I have a transgo VB w/ modified tq conv. I will see next weekend if the weather is good hopefully.

Did you run on slicks or DR and at what psi do you start at? I have ET Streets on 16in mustang wheels.

I set the window switch 3.5k-6.5k

What 60fts did you pull N/A compared to your nitrous runs? My best 60ft on street tires is 1.8. I'm hoping for 1.7 or lower if possible.

I tried BFG DRs, Hoosiers D05 slicks, and MT ET Streets. I pulled 1.9s on the DRs because they were too old and were dry rotted. With Hoosiers, I pulled 1.8s N/A. On MTs, I pulled 1.7 - 1.8 on the juice. On street tires, I pulled 2.0s N/A. There are people that pull 1.6 or lower, but that's pretty rare on our platform. I don't have that many performance/suspension mods, though, so that's one of the major factors.

I start at 20 psi for my MTs and lower by 2 psi until I start seeing positive changes in my short time. Once I reach the desirable level, I fine tune it by .5 - 1 increments. Slicks, I wouldn't worry too much about fine tuning the pressure, as long as it hooks well without bogging. Just make sure you heat them up real good (especially the first time).

Your RPM window looks good.

A friend of mine ran a 100 shot on his G35 for ~20 bottles on stock timing. He added meth-injection and went up to a 150 shot on stock timing. Went through several bottles but at the track he blew one of his ring lands on his 6 or 7th bottle. It was right after he installed a plenum spacer too. I don't think he accounted for higher air volume. May have leaned out a bit. He didnt have a wide band installed, so who knows.

150 shot is really pushing it on stock timing. Did he get tuned for the meth? What did he run at the track?

He's running meth, so if he had 50/50 mix, and a good sized nozzle, thats like running race gas, it could drop your afrs a good one point.

Yeah I think the plenum spacer leaned it out to much. My A/F was near the 14's N/A before I was tuned. Now I'm at 12.5 N/A.

Lets see my car is an 04 touring running a 75 NX wet shot. I have 102K on the car and been spraying since 92k'ish. I've been through about 10 bottles or so. I spray mostly at the track and about 8 times on the street. I'm on stock plugs, Osirus N/A tune and stock fuel pump. I havent check my A/F yet and havent dynoed with the n20 yet. I'm not going to a 100 shot until all that is taken care of.

Back the timing....up the giggle. All you need is cipher or something of the like to drop the base timing a degree or two....

I'm going to talk to Frank about doing it for me. Would I have to dyno the car for him to do it?

You can advance/retard up to 2 degrees of timing via:
-dealership
-Cipher
-AccessPort

As long as you know someone at/with any of the above, you can do this for free.

I've been running nitrous since 2007 with a 75HP shot.
Then in 2008 I bumped it up to a 150HP shot.
As long as it's done right with all the safety equipment, and not abused, your Z should be fine.

2006 Touring 350Z with A/T:
Altered Atmosphere Angled Plenum Spacer
Short-ram intake
Random Tech HiFlow Cats

ZEX 150hp shot with ALL the safety bells and whistles
UTEC w/professional tune

Stock Motor - 213whp
NA with UTEC tune (no nitrous) - 248whp / 223wtq
On Bottle 150HP shot - 339whp / 372wtq

Still going strong!!!

Happy Spraying!

If you do it in Cipher you'll lose the retard every time the battery is disconnected... yea that sucks.

Have a tuner use ROM Editor so it's permanent.
