Default Nitrous Question/Problem!!

I have been trying to solve my nitrous issues for a while now. I finally have all the bugs worked out I think. Now I have a very strange issue. After a nitrous run my car stalls. When I have the clutch in and coasting to a stop the motor stalls. Easy to restart when I am rolling by just poping the clutch. I am just wondering if anyone knows why this would be happening.

glad to see your alive.

you could be flooding your engine. it happened to me when i had the nitrous backfire. the car just stalled while i was cruising to a stop.

a ton of possibilities.

1. wrong fuel/nitrous jetting
2. bottle not up to temp
3. bottle near empty
4. the fuel isnt getting fully vaporized while mixing with the nitrous (something wrong with the fogger), which might be causing puddling in your intake. thats getting pretty close to causing a backfire.

what size jets did u use?

It has been a rough couple of months!! I was thinking flooding but it really doesn't make sense. It would have to bacially blow out the Spark Plugs. jets are 54 and 28 I think. Bottle was full before. Backfire is unlikly in my setup remeber I shoot directly into the intake. I am not sure what else it could be. I was thinking I put the car in limp mode but no lights. I will have to take it to a shop to get it checked out.

ahh true. i forgot about your setup.

have you dropped in colder plugs yet? the stock platinum plugs dont mix too well with nitrous. im guessing from the #'s your running a 100-125shot? maybe your not getting a complete burn and flooding the engine? irridium or copper would be a way to go. probably irridium since it lasts longer.

those jet sizes dont look anything like mine, then again your running zex so they wont match.

maybe someone else can chime in on this...

What jet sizes are you running? I could be wrong I know fuel is .28 I have not played with this in a while. NX and Zex are the same for jets I believe. I have 1 step colder coppers.

how long have you been running your copper plugs? they should be replaced every 10kmiles.

i was running 57N/35F (125shot) pretty much all summer up until i had my mishap which was caused by not purging before spraying. im working my way back up now. im at 46N/28F (75shot).

if they are the same, then your running a much higher nitrous jet size, but thats even more reason why there shouldnt be flooding. if anything thats lean.....and lean conditions dont cause ur engine to stall like it did.

you can always do what i did. i disconnected the fuel and nitrous line going to the intake and activated the system to see if i get a steady cloud from the fogger. that might help u find out if theres a clog somewhere along the way...?

check out the local forum. i think they're trying to plan a bbq at mike's house this sunday. they might try to slap on mdacko's new springs while they're at it. im still not sure if i can make it, but if i can, then maybe you should swing by there and we can fiddle with ur kit a little and see what might be a possible cause??

Well it fires nice. I have totally forgot what sizes I put in there. If I am remembering right it is a 125 hp shot to the wheels so who knows how big that actually is. I think I figured out why I was not getting anything at Milan. I think the nitrous nozzle was plugged. It is now feeling right. I am going to get the bottle refilled tomorrow. Slap on the slicks and head to Milan. Well hopefully that is.

JSPEC - Would you mid sharing what ZEX system you are using? I am looking for a system for my G35 and I don't like the idea of introducing fuel/nitrous in the intake tube. If I can't find one that injects directly into the plenum, I am going to make one.

Well mine injects the mix directly into the plenum. My Crawford plenum is tapped for the nozzle. It spray almost directly into the body of the plenum. I would take a picture but it is located under the neck and completly hidden from normal view.

if you dont like the idea of nitrous and fuel in your intake you might want to look at a direct port setup where the nitrous and fuel gets sprayed directly into to each combustion chamber. costs are a lot higher.

jason. you in for sunday?

Sup man,

I'm running a NX kit and that would happen to me every now and then as well. This was with a 75 shot (41/24). On 1 step colder NGK coppers. Except in my case it was more of a delayed reaction. Once after a run I had my hood open and was just letting it cool down when all of a sudden the car died like someone took out the key. And then another time after a run I parked, and when I went to go start it again it had trouble starting. My guess is its the plugs, you probably had a lot of air in the bottle (almost empty) when you sprayed so you fouled the plugs. Near empty bottle + plugs overdue for a change is my theory of how I blew my intake:

Let us know how it goes or if you figure anything out.

Bottle was full. I think my problem has more to do with a clogged NO2 nozzle. I believe that I am getting too much fuel sprayed. My NGK's are only about 5000 miles old. I have to get the bottle filled again and I will see if I still have this problem.

What would've clogged your nozzle? Have you tried taking out your nozzle and testing to see if it sprays?

I had the control unit off for a few months last winter and I never bothered to take out the nozzle or plugs the lines. It whistled sounded like a turbo
