4th sounds right. I know most guys have the issue of having to shift to 5th on the strip and it hurts their times. I'll try to top out 3rd on the freeway and see where it ends up. Haha, the Evo just tempts you into making bad decisions, you can't help it.

 

Yep, it was a black Nismo Z. The exhaust tips on that car are HUGE! Like 5" or something insane!

I need to change my location. I live in Livonia now, but seen the Z in Novi at the Best Buy I work at.

Hey Aj! Yeah I have pretty busy the past year so far. Been searching for foreclosed homes that arn't completely destroyed and i'm trying to slowly restrain myself from modding in general (even though at the slightest glimpse that it may be the end of modding for a while, I rebel and spend a ton of cash lol).

Do you guys still go out to that parking garage at Oakland College? I'll have to gather up a few of the local speed guys together, see if they wanna come with. All they hear me rant about is how I want a Z lol. But the speed has proved it's worth in power and utility and I can't complain about that one bit. I'm in the best car for me right now. But the Z won't be a unicorn forever, I will have one!! lol

 

Hey man, sorry I didn't mean to hold you up too long! I haven't seen too many Nismo Z's in person, then that other kid showed up with the 03-04 Z. Anyway, I work up at that Best Buy, so if you're ever in the store, let me know!

Steve, your exhaust was SO much quieter man.. Really it sounds totally different.
It's alot mor manageable, but the note is very flat comparably. Thats my .02.
I hope you change it out for track events, we WANNA hear it man!!

Ian/Rob agreed, this one will live a bit mroe pampered at first. I can't do that again, the G was pissed the whole time I had it. Looking forward to driving it around :-)

Mods I don't know, berk still needs to make the next batch, Greddy backed out there was a MAJOR leak in it.
The welds were not holding under constant load. Technosquare isn't transferrable yet, so I am not in on that... by mid summer I will have some stuff, just not right now.

Anyone recommend a shop that works on AC's ? My AC is working but it's only cool not cold. I'm in Rochester Hills and work in Warren, so I'm looking for somewhere it that area.

 

I would just take it to Dick Scott personally
With AC you might be able to just fill the compressor up if you have lost some fluid.
I had to do that on my old Caddy, its really easy to do.
Look in the manual for the fluid refill spot, check it . If its low just add more.

Also if anyone is interessted I will be out on woodward tonight cruising in the new whip.

Good plan on the break in miles. You might want to stick a brick under the gas pedal to prevent the urge to smash! I got plans tonight tho.. have fun.

At lunch today, I saw a silver Z with a Nismo front bumper and side skirts. I couldn't tell if exhaust was stock. It was on Farmington Rd and 13 mile.

Anyone we know?

 

not sure - but there's a guy i've seen a few times now in a stock silver Z coupe. a couple times on woodward, and once on southfield road. each time i pace him and try to wave, but he doesn't even pay attention. rude. lol

 

Anyone doing anything around Ann Arbor or Irish Hills this weekend?! I'll be in Adrian. Quite bored. lol

 

The transformation of my Z is complete. Just a few pictures out in front of the painter's house. He did a great job and worked a lot of hours at night and on weekends to get it done right. He's a pro painter at a local chevy dealer but does work on the side. I loved the old look but this looks meaner and it was time for a change. 6 coats of paint and 4 coats of clear {he probably wet sanded through 1-2 coats of the clear though to get it nice and smooth}:
