Unfortunately, I'm headed out of town for a business trip. Otherwise I'd love to have folks over to watch it on the 133" screen.
BTW Rob: When do you want to go shooting? If you buy a box of ammo and pay for your range time, I'd be happy to let you try out the Remington!

I go to Double Action on Dequinder just south of 14 mile. It has a 50 yard indoor range that allows up to a .30-06 rifle. Cost per half hour is about $18 or $27 (I think) for an hour. A half hour is all you will need.
I still need to sight in the scope. I've made some adjustments but still not happy. I think the person who mounted it must have been on crack at the time.
No pistols at this time. You can rent them from the range if you want to try them. They have a seperate indoor pistol range too.
This may be a good idea for a winter meet!

I might bring out some of my arsenal, depending on when.
Welcome Kyle I live in Novi so I will keep my eye's peeled for you. though there are a decent amount of Z's on the west side....

I think he meant 15 foot? If so that's even bigger than yours Brian!
And thanks for the offer for shooting, I'll have to see when a good time is. No rush lol. Kinda intimidated.

That might help to get over the intimidation factor. It's also pretty helpful because once you are in the range you have to yell over the ear protection.
Edit: forgot to mention - Welcome to new guy HRteckie!

^ I agree with Steve. It is a great idea to meet with someone and go over some of the basics and saftey.
Let me know when you guys plan on going to the range, and what range you decide to go to. Its been a little while for me and I am sure my handgun would like the exercise.

Before I took my dad to the range for the first time, we met up at my house before and went over the basics of gun safety and how to handle the firearm (what not to do, safety switch, loading, etc...) That way he at least had an introduction before stepping into the range.. and he knew what to expect.

Nothing to worry about Rob. So long as you stay focused and don't goof around, guns are very safe. Just always check and double-check. Then always handle it like it's loaded and there won't be any accidents.
As for the kick, it's not bad at all. I use a heavier wood stock and a bipod so don't be worried about your shoulder breaking. There's less than a 25% chance of causing fractures.
