Sigh.... time to clean out the driver side window motor again. This will be the 3rd time. Maybe it'll be the charm.

Oh, and staples in the head ftl. My oldest son was running around the playground yesterday and ran into one of those suspension bridges. Hit his head just right on the edge of the hard, rubber/plastic panel and sliced his head open. Lots of blood and tears. Good thing I was there, momma would have probably freaked out. That was my evening....spent in the ER.

Hey guys,
Are any of you in/around Wayzata? I have a 2003 Track 350z right now but have just put a deposit down on a 2007 Grand Touring at the Wayzata Nissan dealership... I plan on picking it up this weekend so long as there are no problems with it, but I was wondering if anyone wouldn't mind going to quickly check it out for me? Just to look for obvious defects... there is a dent in the passenger door that they are fixing for me already. Thanks for your help I appreciate it. Let me know if you can and I will inform the salesman.

They apparently sell Infinitis that were returned as lemons, not sure about Nissans, but you probably want to make sure that the car you are interested in is not one before coming all the way out here. If it seems like the price is too good to be true I would make sure you ran a carfax or something to make sure it was not lemonized.

I would stop by on my way home but I know nothing about Zs other than some of their parts can be used to make a G better.

Oh I think that they would have to make it pretty obvious before you actually signed papers. If you ran a carfax on yours it should tell you if it was a lemon at some point. If you run a carfax and it shows the car going back to Nissan you should check your paperwork. If nothing is mentioned call them and ask them to send you their copy showing that you were forewarned about its status. If still nothing then I think you can negotiate with them for a little rebate, otherwise you might be able to get something from them in Court. It would be really stupid for them to sell lemons without letting the buyer know. It is not exactly the same but think of the lawsuit you would have if they sold you a salvaged vehicle without bothering to mention it.
They were recently involved in a lawsuit regarding credit fraud (not really their fault and they were upfront about what happened) so they would probably not be doing something that could really get them sued.
I just mentioned it because it would really be a stinker to be from OH and show up in MN expecting to take delivery and find out that you have been looking at a lemon. The pressure to buy would be immense when it is something that would need to be thought about for a while. If the price is right then it might be an okay idea. I have heard that in CA (consumer biased lemon law) you could buy a G for thousands less if it was returned as a lemon for the rapid brake wear. Now buying one of those would not be a bad deal at all since it is actually normal behavior.

Wow, thanks for you info guys... that would be bad. I did check the CARFAX, and it only says that the car was sold to an auction house in IL from the original dealer and then the wayzata dealer bought it from the auction house a month ago with 30miles on it. it has never been titled or had any accidents, repairs etc according to the CARFAX... squeaky clean! so I guess it is ok?

Boo Dave. We need to have a fund raiser for you. I went to Wayzata today to get some oil filters. I talked to Arnold the GM and he was not aware that they had a Nismo Z. He also just got back in town from vacation. I looked around the dealer and could not find it.
