Fun times at Lapeer I see!! I used to live near there... Now I live like 20-25 mins from Milan lol. But without a drag car.

I just got back from Mid-Ohio yesterday and had an amazing time out there!! Here are some shots of the event! BEST PART was during our track day there was an actual BMW race. So we had a 2 hour break every day to sit around and watch the race too! Awesome way to run a HDPE.

No idea on my times! I've yet to ever record any times so far at all 7 events I've been too. I guess I'm just worried about learning the proper lines at all the tracks and just improving my drivers over the times for now.

Grattan is still my favorite. I would love to make that my homebase!

Default My track day at Waterford on Aug 1, 2009

Had a fun day at WHRR's OTD at Waterford. As you all know I am a beginner and was having my own doubts when they said that passing is allowed anywhere on the track except for 2 spots.
But after session 2, I picked up the pace and had a great time

Following are videos of Session 4.

(HD) Shot with canon HFS-100, mounted in car

Default Porsche Club Track Day - Waterford

Just came back from a track day at Waterford Hills. Had a lot of fun and learnt alot. My brake fluid is junk OR may be its been worked out over the past 5-6 track days. Towards the end of each session, I have had to do 2-3 laps very cautiously. The brake would go in almost 70% before any brake can be applied.

I need to bleed to brakes soon Can someone help me do this? I have talked to a few people and it seems easy enough but I am scared to try it by myself

Also, today was my first day with Carbotech's. They might be better but didn't get to see them to the full extent because of my brake fluid issues. I kept locking the rear wheels at times, which tells me that they are sharper than the stock pads.

More pics and videos to come of today ... later

Are you still on stock fluid? You need to upgrade to better fluid, like ATE Blue or Motul. I am sure that I good bleed will make a difference. You should head out to the Oakos meet. I am sure that someone can help you with the brake bleed. Dave can probably also sell you the fluid.

Yes, it's the stock DOT4 fluid that they put in my car in June. I have done 6 track days so far. Brakes started going soft towards the end of the session since last track day.

I already bought ATE Super Blue fluid and Motive Power Bleeder from Dave @ OAKOS. I am going to be there this Sunday. It looks like the job can be done without taking the wheels off. But I will bring my jack and stands anyway

Default Local Performance Shop w/ Alignment package ??

Is there any local performance shop that offers a long term alignment package like the big chain stores (FireStone etc)?
I am looking to buy a 2-3 yr alignment package for my car and get front camber arms installed for track usage.

(I am still researching but ... ) I want to keep the alignment at the stock settings and adjust the camber at the track and then dial it back before I leave the track.

Nice pics Deepu. And let me know if you find a good place as I might sign up for a alignment package as well.

Just got back from autocross in Toledo. Man so much fun!! It was at the toledo express airport so it was a huge concrete lot. Tons of grip and really high speed. I was bouncing off the rev limiter a couple times (around 60 mph for the DE motor).

All the national level competitors were there to finish up their tuning before heading out to nationals so the competition was really high. I ended up placing 5th out of 10 in BSP on STREET TIRES! Everybody else was on race tires except me! I was one spot away from a trophy position

Super happy with my performance and can't wait to go out there again. If I had race tires I'm sure I would have trophied, but it's so much sweeter winning on street tires in a race tire class muahahaha!

Good job Rob. That is really awesome. Wish I could have gone, had some prior appointments that I couldn't have cancelled.

Nice Looks like you are making up your lost time.

My Sis and BIL are coming from out of town and I wanted to show them some in-car action. So I chose the track day by Alpha Romeo club as they allow passengers. It is on Monday 9/7.

I am considering 9/26 3Balls evening but dont want to sign up till the end because I dont want to go if its raining.

I might go to the 10/3 & 10/4 Grattan event by Lotus Club.

Default Alignment :(

I went to buy lifetime alignment at Firestone. They charge only 139.99$ BUT they decided not to work on it after they looked at my wheels. They said their equipment will gouge the wheels where it will clip.

Besides I didnt want them scratched. I am going to have to get it done at the dealer. Ann Arbor dealer has cheaper prices than Dick Scott but they are all booked up.

I am also getting additional 3M film applied around the wheels and the headlight so that I don't have to apply the hideous painters tape. That's one less thing to do at the track now.

The Firestone on Ford Road in Canton said they will do it without scratching it. But they were not able to get the car in the right position on the alignment rack. The front lip extends too far out and will hit the rollover stops at the end of the alignment rack

What a pain I wish there were places that offered alignment specials on my car.
