Jawbreaker Road Rally

August 22nd & 23rd
Starts in the early a.m. on Saturday.

Drivers and co-drivers navigate through roughly 6 hours worth of technical twisties and backroads in Ohio and Kentucky using the provided route map and instructions. With multiple checkpoints along the way, cars will collect Jawbreaker poker cards from the lovely Jawbreaker girls at the checkpoints; best hand wins cash! Team departures and arrivals will also be timed for the best route time based on a secret average time.
At the arrival point on Saturday, we'll all fill up a private rented parking lot downtown Cincinnati right next to our after party spot and right next to the hotel we're staying in. Afterparty with live music and VIP Jawbreaker area.
Sunday, we'll wake up before noon and head out for driving day 2, finishing at a performance shop where everyone can hangout, share road stories, and awards will be given.

Free stuff included.
Handful of cool awards and prizes.

More info under the "Drive" page on the website.

I am submitting my registration package tomorrow (today). This should be a rocking event!

Anyone from Detroit interested in attending as well? I'm registering to include hotel. If you're a cheap bastard and don't want to spend the bucks on hotel you can camp on the floor of my room. Warning, I snore like a Harley Davidson with an aggressive cam. LOL. Really, the registration is only $50 more if you want the room included. It'll be worth it.

Check out the videos. This event is professionally sponsored by Subaru, Konig Wheels and some others. The rally starts early on Saturday so I might consider going down Friday night and grabbing a room somewhere. I know the area somewhat so if you come down too, maybe we can have some fun there on Friday night.

I will be leaving the rally on Sunday in hopes to get back to Detroit by 6 or so. My daughter is having her 14th birthday party so I don't want to get back late. (No I'm not that priority-whacked to miss her birthday, it's not for 2 more weeks. This is her party for friends.)

Schaweeet!

What time does your co-driver get off work? For Friday, I may stay with a friend in the area or grab a cheap hotel. Where have you booked?

Nothing finalized yet. My hope would be to leave by 6. Preferably we would get some idea as to where we will start before booking a room, but overall cheaper == better.

I'm headed down this afternoon for a business trip in Kentucky on Friday. I will be meeting up with friends in Cincinnati for a BBQ. Then early Saturday morning, my co-driver and I will move to the hotel.

I'm sure you got the info. Without naming the start place, are you staying there or somewhere closer to I75?

I'll keep an eye out for you on Saturday am. The weather should be good on Sat and Sun. Should be a good time!

Yep. We're staying at the starting location. I don't think either of us know anyone in Ohio, so we'll probably get down there and wake up with a hangover from the hotel bar Saturday morning!

I'm getting the car detailed today so I suppose I will try to cover it.

Have fun you guys, I am excited to hear the stories after you come back. I would have loved to go but I don't have a co-driver and I am already out most of the time on car related matters

No co-driver required. I heard they will take on site registration if you pay cash. PM me if you or anyone else is interested.

I can't go because my car will be at the dealer this Saturday for some repair. There is some control unit around the airbags that is getting reset and I have the airbag light blinking. They have already changed once before my last track day and the light came on again.

You can reset this yourself. Search, the procedure is on here somewhere. It's a sequence of turning the key on and off.

I didn't explain it clearly. The airbag light is on and I was told that the airbags would not deploy in the case of an accident. They had to change some control module (1k$ piece) about 10 days back before my last track day. The light came on again at the track, so they change the piece this past Saturday.

Dealer says, if the light comes on again, Nissan recommended they change the whole air bag harness. Btw, this is all warranty I didn't have to pay for anything.

How was the rally? Give us more details

Rally was the most fun I've ever had in a car. I'm still working on sorting out the pictures and videos... here is the raw gallery straight off of the camera.

I've watched the three in car videos but I didn't realize I took a couple in the bar. They are loud and very dark. I'm sure something stupid was said in each of the videos!

Brian left us in the dust. Just completely blew us out. I think he was over 30 minutes ahead of us at lunch. I started off a little too conservative. After lunch we followed some BMWs and I improved the pace a lot (if only we hadn't spent an hour going the wrong way).

Great Pics!!! Can't wait till next year.

I sent a message to Trevor asking for the times. Julie posted a note on my FB page that Tact and I had the 2nd fastest time out of 25. LOL. I'm amazed we didn't end up with a ticket.

They posted up the times. You were only 10 minutes from the Boxster.

If Brian and I didn't have an hour long detour we would have been pretty darn close to that average time.

LOL. Thanks. I did see that. I was the 2nd fastest car. I heard the Boxster skipped Peach Mountain Road. I should have too!

Honestly, I really was busting *** to get my time. Just ask Clay or Mike in the Porsche 993! I did come in 2 hours ahead of the last car! LOL

@Brian - Did you shoot any video? How fast were you driving?
