It sounds like Bryan of ZdayZ is making some changes to the schedule.

Last year, the airstrip event was not an official part of ZdayZ. The schedule had Thursday as an arrival day with no events until the evening. (So there was no point to arriving early.)

Let's stay flexible. We've got a lot of time to decide this. We can take a look at the schedule when published and decide. When is the drop dead date to sign up for the drags?

I know you have a full crew at your cabin but if you don't mind can you throw me on the wait list in case anyone drops out?

Thanks/
No problem Jeff. Don't worry about finding a spot to crash. Just get down there. There are always cancellations or openings posted up weeks before the event. If not, bring your pillow & sleeping bag and we'll find a spot for ya.

^^ Yeeeaaahhhh! You rock Deepu!

It's good to see the Michigan list growing on ZdayZ.com
I'll try and spread the word to the other Z forums. (Z31, Z32, etc...) It's mostly Z33's and I'd like to see more variety.

Keep spreading the word.

So far, we're getting a pretty good turn out from Michigan.
You can check to see who's registered. However, I know that some folks have not yet registered. (Lee, Jeff and a few others.)

http://www.zdayz.com/registration/registered_guests.php

I figure we'll end up with about 8-10 cars from Michigan. If possible, I will try and coordinate to meet up with the Ohio Z's headed down. It should be a head turner of a caravan. I sure would like to see your car down there, Not many F/I's in Michigan.

I'm in Ohio just north of Cincinnati, and planning on a Thursday departure. May have to join you guys on the way.

I helped organize the Zdayz 2005 Midwest Caravan. We had a about 20 Zs. Was def a blast.

Maybe we can pull something like that together again. I know there are some coming from MN, OH, and IL.

We're waiting till closer to date to decide if we leave Wednesday night and stop part way or start out on Thursday. I'll do a poll in April to get everyone's opinion.

Yeah, that's cool. Its a little early to make definite plans. Family, work, etc...

I definitely want to caravan down, I may come back home via Blueridge Skyway (or whatever, and across WV turnpike. Awesome drive.

^^ Sounds like a great trip back. You certainly will add a few hours doing that. Instead, I suggest you exit Fontana Village on the NC side and take your time heading to Asheville, NC. I-40 from Asheville to Knoxville is unbelieveable.

If you have time, stop off at Biltmore Estate in Asheville. Website: http://www.biltmore.com/

I believe it is still the largest single family residence in America. Anyway, you're very close to it at ZdayZ. Not much is going on on Sunday. Just reserve your tickets months in advance, hit it and the winery and you can still get back at a decent time.

As for me, I have to be in Dallas on Monday morning. I'm debating leaving the car in Knoxville, flying into Dallas on Monday and flying back to Knoxville to get the car. Although, I really didn't want to miss the caravan back.

My father-in-law lives in Johnson City, just a few miles form Bristol. We visit every year. Last year we made the trip to Asheville with our daughters and toured the Biltmore Estate. Its truly a marvel - architecturally somewhat insignificant as it's a copy cat of French Chateau, but with a modern twist - electricity & all of the modern amenities at it's time. To some degree I found the historical items and the estates history to be interesting. Absolutely worth a visit.

Even more incredible is 'ol George Vanderbilt's story. He really had no interest in assuming the family business - or even any sort of profession for that matter. So he only assumed like 1/10 of his fathers wealth. But nonetheless it was still a ton of money. Basically lived his life as an intellectual-socialite. Guess I'm jealous

We didn't do the winery, will do if the wife i make the trip alone.

Good News!

I just reserved a 2-bedroom Laurel cabin for ZdaysZ.

If anyone is looking for a bed to sleep in for ZdaysZ let me know as I'd like to get a couple of people. Brian count me in on the MI caravan.

Dil -- What's up man, how have you been?

Sweet!!! Congrats on getting one. Right now, we certainly have more people than places to sleep.

Looks like the caravan is going to be sweet. Do some of you guys have good video cameras and car mounts? I'm thinking about making some headrest camera mounts.

Default Cameras for the trip

I recently bought a Go Pro HD camera, here's some promotional footage shot by the company. I am going to be mounting this behind me in the car for the duration of the trip.

I have used this camera mounted on my helmet when I went to ski locally and video is pretty sweet. I plan on using this camera during my Ski trip in Colorado next week. Can't wait

'Ya had me wondering. You haven't been on for a while. I assumed you spend your time on MyExigeRocks.com or some other Lotus forum.

Have you booked a cabin yet?
