Follow a line or not, you are always faster than me For a change its good that you are now in Group 1, because we are not back to back. I don't drive in 4 anymore.

About the first slip up, I felt I went in too hot and got scared to take it all the way to the end of the hill (downwards) and turned earlier. I probably turned earlier than hitting the actual apex and lost traction?

Let me know what you thought ...

Yup, my thoughts exactly. You were too close to the inside and turned in too early. Into Archer's you were a bit too close to the inside - you should hang out farther to the left, then turn in. With that said, you are now generating enough speed to lose traction - that is awesome!

Deepu are you shifting into 4th now on the back stretch? Cuz I would always be bouncing off redline in 3rd but too afraid to shift to 4th. I tried it a few times but couldn't get my heel toe down. Lol I even had to hold the clutch in one time through the entire turn cuz I didn't make the shift, that was interesting.

If you miss the shift, that's the correct thing to do though. You totally screw up the turn and lose speed and everything.. but it's safe. The last thing you want to do is pop the clutch and throw off the balance of the car .

On Deepu's first blooper - I agree about being too far inside - maybe picked up some debris on tires in that portion of the track. But, his front tires dug in and he went off on the inside.. isn't that an indication of braking or letting off too much throttle - shifting weight to the front tires? And that may have been a reaction to going in too hot.

I'm not criticizing, just trying to learn from his mistake too.

- All are good comments keep'em coming.
- Steve, you are free to criticize. I will only learn from what others think, I don't mind at all.
- I think I haven't been applying technique to my driving which is kinda bad. I might be doing most of the things subconsciously but I am not paying attention to weight transfer etc at all curves. I do understand some of them but the others I am driving based on how I feel when I drive.
- Rob, Yes I am shifting into 4th. For the longest time I didn't shift because I couldn't manage to shift at the end of the straight. Now I constantly bounce off the rev limiter and didn't want to do it. So, now I shift into 4th and sometimes I am unable to shift and I just shift after I make the turn. I think I am faster that way than driving in third even if I complete shift after making the turn. I guess you only learn when you start doing it even if it's uncomfortable at the beginning.

hah I'm glad I have my SRM nanny so I don't have to heel-toe. :P My foot sure doesn't rotate easily to put my heel on the throttle and it's narrow so rolling is out...

I'll just be screwed and have to learn all over when I get another car.

2) what time are you guys thinking of leaving? I'll prolly leave around 5ish and get there around 8. Maybe we could carpool

I'm free to leave any time Friday and caravaning down would be fun.

Hopefully I don't blow an untested oil cooler line on the way down and wreck my engine. :P I should get it tomorrow and hopefully will have it installed by wednesday afternoon so I can put a few miles on and check the install friday morning.

US23 is fine by me... I could just go work at some coffee shop in AA that afternoon. Would save me a lot of rush hour traffic.

If we don't get in too late I'd be willing to help out, but I'm not too mechanically inclined.

I have SPL's and have done it before. I am not handy at all, for alot of the folks it is supposed to be a half hour job. But I have never been able to do it in half hour I can show you how to do it and if there are 2 folks on both sides we may be able to get it done faster. I might have somehow injured my wrist trying to change the shims last time at Mid-Ohio and still have pain. I can tell you more in person how/why I injured my wrist

So, I will not be able to help you with it.

I'm pretty handy, as long as you know what to do, I can help

Will it be too dark Friday night? If we can use a garage or somewhere with light.

we'll figure it out. I was also thinking maybe run a session with the stock alignment then come in and adjust to see how it feels. just a thought.
