DC Metro Zrs Check In
In Columbia, MD. Five inches of snow and counting. Looks like my first track day in the Z (Summit Point Friday at the Track) is scrubbed, unless it warms up and melts real fast. Damn! Still hoping for better weather next Friday...
It would be fun to get together with other local Z-ers when all this clears up.
Columbia's probably a nice central place for Balto/Wash folks to congregate. I can think of a couple of places that might be good for a lunch meeting, and could make reservations.
Anyone free for a lunchtime meet either day next weekend (12/14-15)? Which day is better? Or will everyone be too busy preparing for Christmas?

We had about 15 Zs at the last meet about 3 weeks ago. Search on the thread.. there are alot of Zs in Northern VA.. and a good number in MD as well.
Lets get this weather out of here first!

Robbyn checking in. My Z has 1020 miles on it. Although I would like to, I think I will pass on Summit Point next Friday. Summit Point is a little colder than metro DC and its possible that this snow will still be on the ground next Friday (although probably not on the course). Plus, I'm not driving my Z until the snow is gone so I might not be over 1200 miles by Friday. I know that 1200 is not a magic number but I still want to be substantially over 1200 before going to the track. Anyway it was great meeting my fellow Z owners a couple of weeks ago, and I hope we can all get together again soon.

GEEZEE checking in. Been out of touch with my computer for about 10 days. Boy what changes to the Forum. Imagine Regional Forums. Sometimes you actually get what you ask for!!
Several of us did get together 11/23 in DC. Here's a couple of things we learned. (Not that anyone asked for my advice.)
1. There was considerable interest!!
2. People will come if they can. (People are interested in meeting other Z enthusiasts)
3. No one will come if the weather is bad!!
4. You'll never get total agreement on time and place.
5. One who calls the meet, sets the venue!!!!
Until a formal club structure is in place (As discussed on this forum early on) or we join with existing Z clubs, if you want to get together. Call the meet.
commasense: it was your original question, you make the call.
Depending on time, place and weather. I'll support your meet!

In keeping with the other topics in this thread. Passed 1200 miles on Tuesday this week. Don't have a garage, but the Z stays off the street until the roads are cleaned up. It is a daily driver, but I have a substitute for bad winter driving conditions.

I missed the first but I won't miss the next. Count Me in. Looks like the weather will be hanging around the 40's throughout next week. Taking the z out once wouldn't hurt as long as the roads are dry. I'm already going crazy just cranking her up to hear the pipes in the garage. My baby needs to breathe....Set a date and time...I'll be there.
Okay, let's get together at Bennigan's in Columbia at noon Sunday, Dec. 15. We'll meet in the parking lot first, look over our cars for a while, then go into lunch.
Here's a map:
Bennigan's Columbia Lakefront
Parking instructions: Don't pull into Wincopin Circle. Instead, turn off Little Patuxent Parkway into Sterrett Place, a block north of Wincopin, go past the gas station and turn right around the office building. Then go straight as far as you can, and park near (but not TOO near) all the other Zs you'll see to the left.
If you get there after we've gone in, you'll see a multilevel parking garage on the left, an office building on the right, and some stairs going down between them. Go down the stairs and Bennigan's will be on your right. Come inside and look for all those nice people talking about their Zs.
Please e-mail me at commasense@cinergetics.com if you can make it, or if you have any questions.
A reminder: the year's last Friday at the Track at Summit Point is this Friday. I'll be there. They're saying there's a waiting list for the novice group, but I'll bet if you're there by 8 am you'll get in. It's worked for me many times. If, like me, you're in SP's Group 2, there's still space.
See you this weekend!
