Watkins Glen Track Day
Porsche and BMW clubs of America come to WGI (Watkins Glen International) every year, as the area is really worth a drive up here in the summer. These events are also open to the public as well. There are a lot of twisty roads along hills and lakes that are a lot of fun to cruise. Last year the Porsche event was held June 19-20th for $290 (both days).
I'm actually looking to see what the interest level would be if we were also able to do a bbq, 1/4 mile track event, or something else that someone might be able to suggest. I realize it's not a short trip for anyone who might be in Harrisburg, New York, CT, MD, etc. That said, I'd like to try and pack as much into a 2 Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday as possible.

WGI is in Watkins Glen, New York - wine and lake country. So there are a lot of hills and twisty roads along the finger lakes that are a lot of fun to drive. There was actually a giant NSX meet up here a few years back and Ferrari is holding a national meet here this summer.
It's about 4 hours NW of NYC (depending on how you drive), about 6-7 hours from Boston, and about 1 1/2 hours north of Williamsport PA. Either way it is actually a very easy drive to get here.
I did some digging on the road course schedule:

We could also rent NYIRP (full 1/4 mile track) / 500$ - limit of 10 cars.

Friday is test/tune night @ 12$ - last time I went I got in about 5-6 good runs.
Here's a crappy picture of the Glen area.

Here are a few more opportunities to go to the Glen (or Pocono or Lime Rock) and run your car on the track. In car instruction for all novices, too.

Yep, had been a member of PDA for a while, but not since Joe got NASA together with the PDA.
I havent taken the Z out on a track yet, but planning on making it to the Glen or Limerock. Just have to buy tires, brakes, ect.. first
If you have never been to Pocono, plan on having the everliving crap beaten out of your car, and thats pretty much known for that track. Sure its fun to rip down the long course at 150, but when a Ferarri on slicks come ripping by, your hood is toast. Basically, there is a lot of crap on the track...
