Just a thought.... Last year some people got lost and eventually gave up trying to keep up. Maybe we should get a route ahead of time so that we can put it in the nav.

How do we have too many attendees? In September we had 49 on the signup list, and exactly 19 showed up. Granted weather was not the greatest so that could account for some of the loss, but it was absolutely doable with that many cars. Also this year, as I wrote in the first post, we may be moving the starting spot, as well as breaking the groups into two, myself leading one and Speedracer leading the other. This would accomodate well over 40 cars nicely.

Great point Ken. The turn where people got lost last year has now been eliminated, and the route slightly changed as to avoid that difficult turn. As for giving the route ahead of time, I will do that, but not yet. I will put that up a few days before the Run is scheduled to go on.

Northeast mountain run III information update

As the event draws closer and the sign-up begins to fill, I thought I would update everyone on a few items:

1. There was one very tricky turn on the fall drive that got some people lost. That turn has been eliminated from the route. The alternate route is just as much fun.

2. Recognize that if the actual turnout is close the the sign-up number, it will be impossible to stay in one pack -that's okay, as long as people know the route.

3. Due to #2, after May 1st, please PM either myself or Zmazing03 for the complete agenda including complete route, stopping points, and times. There will be a printed copy of the agenda also available at the starting point.

4. As of now, the starting point will remain the same -Friendly's on Route 10 in Westfield, MA, immediately after the exit toll booth at exit 3 off I-90.

I dont see a need for all the fuss ... Directions were supplied last year.
If I hadnt been day dreaming I would of made it. Other than myself,
I think G missed the turn.

Yeah G was in the Pathfinder (lol) and he missed the turn, you followed.

This year that Pathfinder will be replaced by quite possible the fastest Z in the meet.

Important update....change in starting location

IMPORTANT UPDATE: CHANGE IN STARTING LOCATION

Due to the large anticipated turnout for this event, we have changed the starting location. This will allow for a larger initial meeting point and also allow for the entire group to cruise as a pack on the highway for about 15-17 miles before we hit the back roads. Once on the back roads, it is inevitable that the pack may fragment a little, and we at least wanted us all to be able to cruise as a complete pack at the start.

The new starting point will be at the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, MA. Exit 6 off I-91. Please proceed to the north side parking area, across from Max's Tavern restaurant. You can come as early as 7:15am, but departure time from the lot will still be at 8:00am sharp. We still want to hit the backroads early before any traffic.
