For you New York/NJ people, are any of you planning on coming up to CT the night before so you don't have to get up so early? If so, I would recommend either somewhere in around New Haven/Hamden area, or even Enfield, right next to Springfield but probably half the price. I will be leaving from Exit 10 off I-91 so if any of you stay in/around that area, we could have one caravan all the way up and that way have fewer people who might get lost, or not get there on time.

 

I'm in, the trip starts about 25 mins from my school. These JIC coilovers need a good workout.

I'm not sure how you guys feel about it but I have a friend with a turbo m3 and 03 cobra that might be interested. I won't invite them until I see that its ok here first though.

FURTHER UPDATED INFO......As of 4-30-07:

After some discussion, the event organizers have decided not to release information regarding the exact route of The Run. Reasons for this should be pretty obvious.

Printed directions will be handed out at the starting point, so don't be late!!!!

Final decision in case of bad weather predictions will be posted on Friday, May18th. Don't bother with weather.com/weather channel, as we will be tracking more local forecasts. Prediction last fall was for all rain, and it was fairly dry for most of the trip.

Additonal idea:

A person going on our Run suggested we have name tags with handle/year of Z/real name, which I think would be very cool, especially when you get to the end of the event and people are talking. So if you don't mind, go ahead and post up your first name and model Z -- or feel free to PM me.

Also, if you have those Motorola two ways, don't hesitate to bring them as that will be great in case some people get seperated.

Additional Info: I am coming from Eastern MA and am planing on staying in the Hilton in Hartford, CT, May 19, and driving up to Springfield in the AM. If anyone wants to meet up there, or has the same plan let me know!

 

Sounds like a fun cruise. Looking at the list of attendees, it appears to be strictly G & Zs.... would an Audi be welcomed? Otherwise i'd probably just jump in my freinds Z.

 

Stay tuned as we will be setting up various meeting points throughout CT. Last year we had a meeting point in Stamford, Middletown, and Windsor and most likely we'll be doing the same this year.

Vics, due to time constraints, I really want to limit it two two meeting spots for the CT caravan. Also I heard that a lot of the NY/NJ guys are staying in CT overnight so they don't have to get up so early.

I am personally going to have a meeting spot at Exit 10 of I-91 (north of New Haven), and then we can probably meet up at that Mobil station further north (Windsor). For people in between those two locations I would say join in on one of the other two meeting points, or head to Springfield (and probably see a group of us while you are driving).

I would love to stop a couple of times, but each time we do that we are adding 10-15 minutes to the travel time with exiting the highway, lining up, and getting back on -- and I also don't want to lose anyone.

I agree with Zmazing on this one. Too many stops will lead to potential delays and a lot of stress on people to get there on time. A prompt departure is essential to getting onto roads when they are likely to be the emptiest.

Also, if you are heading up the night before, there is a Hilton Garden Inn on site at the Basketball Hall of Fame. Really....if you are coming up to CT from further south the night before, take the extra hour and come all the way up. While a caravan sounds like fun, remember, this isn't a meet where you won't get to drive. It is basically 4-5 hours of fun driving between going up and heading back. People will get a chance to "caravan" home if you really want to do that.

We should all just focus on getting there and getting on the road at 8am.

 

A Question for everyone.....

Okay....this may seem a bit weird seeing as I am one of the co-organizers of this event, but one of my other vehicles is the new Audi RS4. In speaking with someone, they thought I should bring the RS4 in place of my Z roadster. I said I felt strange about bringing the RS4 seeing as this is primarily a Z/G event, and I do, in fact, own a Z, and I am, in fact, one of the event organizers.

So.....opinions please.....should I bring the Z or the Audi RS4???
