Northeast Mountain Run III
Geez, now I'm really feeling bad for missing this thing with Steve (z2thdr)coming all the way from Toronto, not to mention a lot of old friends I haven't seen in a while. Unfortunately I can't make this as I have an annual Cystic Fibrosis "walk" I always attend on Sunday. In any event have a great time and don't worry about the weather!
By the way I believe that Chris Davis/Notlownf may show up at Stratton Mountain. For anyone that has plans to sell a G35 Coupe, he's back in the market (he sold his G35 for a Supra and has since sold that) so keep that in mind.
Finally, not to rain on the parade (poor choice of words...), I think someone might have messed up the numbers as it goes from 36 to 54.

as for the weather, 30% is pretty much a safety net for them to fall back on if it rains lol, then they can say they told ya so.
i ALWAYS for years have used weather.com and paid close attention to their forecast, 30% usually turns into a few minutes of sunshowers.

Nope. And I was discussing with Speedracer that the showers they are talking about are just left over random spots from the storms coming thru Friday and Sat. Stay tuned for an Official Go or NO GO at some point Friday night.

WE ARE OFFICIALLY GO FOR NORTHEAST MOUNTAIN RUN III!
We leave 8 am prompt from the Basketball Hall of Fame (see original post for details). Be there at 7:30 or so to get route directions etc.
Forecast calls for 65-70*, few showers (30% chance). Last year we had a 50% chance and only had about five minutes of rain. The system going through most of our areas now into Saturday will be way up in Maine and Nova Scotia come Sunday. Looking at the radar, the US east of the Mississippi will be clear. I am willing to bet the forecast is changed to mostly sunny, 70* by Saturday night.
Bring walkie talkies/2 way radios if you have them (ie, Motorola TalkAbout). The more people we have in communication, the better.
As stated earlier, run directions will NOT be released until the day of the event, when you get there. We are sticking firm to this for several reasons. I will also be bringing a few copies of actual mapquest pictures of the route.

Hey everyone... This run is a Blast !! I'm sure Mike and VJ are going to stress not to drive over our abilities.
Please be sure to Check your tire Inflation these are some agressive roads we are going to be running. Id hate to see someone lose it over an under inflated tire

Yeah, seriously. Make sure all your running gear is in good shape. No real rain in the forecast but some roads may be damp in places. Know your car and know your own limits. If you've never driven like this before, please don't feel pressured to do so. It's all about fun. Also...get a good nights sleep. You'll be surprised how much you'll need to concentrate

Crap...changing out my unrevised springs and shocks to a new revised setup is taking way longer than I thought. Ugh, I doubt I'll have it back together in time for the run tomorrow.

Make sure you all bring a full tank of gas as we won't be stopping for gas during the Run. There is a gas station right near the BBall Hall of Fame if you need it, but I wouldn't even wait that long.
Okay......for those who looked out their windows this morning and saw dark clouds/drizzle/rain or whatever and decided not to come......you really missed out. My feeling on things like this is that if you have planned the day, you might as well go regardless of weather.
Anyway, as we headed out and up I-91, it began to pour. As we putzed our way through downtown Northampton, I had resided myself to the fact that this would be just a group drive in the rain and nothing more.
As we headed out from Northampton onto route 66, things let up a bit. The roads were wet but at least nothing was coming down.
Then, suddenly, and as if by magic, the clouds broke, the roads got dry, the sun came out. I actually put my top down, and kept it down for the rest of the ride up and the whole trip back. The weather was GREAT, and we cruising full tilt!
We hit traffic in only a few spots, the entire pack of 30+ cars held together, and by the time we hit the final stretches, the roads were bone dry, and the temps were in the 70's.
No mishaps along the way either. We slowed down when needed, and ripped it up when the roads got empty.
A good time for sure. Hope you all enjoyed it!!!
