Default UR pulley dyno testing

I did a unorthodox crank pulley install today on the G35 that comes to out meets his SN is Zerk. Here are the results of the dyno i did 2 without the pulley and two with pulley. The testing was done on a 03 G35 AT tha had some supporting mods.

first Graph No pulley

Second Graph with pulley

Khoa, thanks for your help with the install.
Here are my impressions:
At first I wasn't impressed with the gains from the dyno pulls, but after driving the car tonight I feel much better about the pulleys. The car pulls slightly faster and the engine revs noticibly faster and feels like it's 200lbs lighter. Also I know there was a debate about aftermarket pulleys throwing off the harmonic balance of our VQ engines, but these pulley literally eliminated the vibration in my cabin. After I installed my Crawford HFCs I had some vibration from the 1500-2000rpm range. With these pulleys there is no more vibration to my surprise. All in all I recommend this mod. I will give an update after I make some Test and Tune runs at the track.

ps. If anyone is in the Philly area and doesn't want to travel far for a reputable installer, this place is definitely the place. The place has a DynoJet and is called Philly DynoWorks and is localled right in downtown Philly.

good work philly thanks for the independant dyno! you to zerk!

quick thing i noticed though his air fuel is way lean over 14.5 in some places is that because how and where you take the reading or are they acurate numbers?

shouldnt he be down around 13-13.5 for a safe target, especially at near full load and near redline rpms?

please correct me if im wrong im still trying to learn this whole tuning thing, i actually made some adjustments today, didnt get to go test them though hopefully tom.

The power and trq curves may improve over time . But as they stand...the curves with the pulley are very choppy . The Stock dyno goes to 6600rpm and the new pulley dyno goes only to around 6350rpm . It also looks like the WHP & trq are a little better at 5250rpm .

Good Luck...hope things improve and you think its worth it .

Ur right jeff reading are off because they are read from the rear tailpipe that is where are wideband goes so give and take its about .1 to .4 off actually reading. The choppy looking graph is due to the ground of the rpm pick up i have been having issues with it and just ordered a new one should be here 2morrow. i know over all power is not there but from me being thier and listening to the way the engine revs it definitly rev alot faster. The install was not bad at all.

though in street car application one would consider 13.1-13.5 acceptable, it has been known for years in the racing circuit that Nissan usually leans out the motors in the 14.5 afr ranges - they make better power with those afr's, but again, I wouldn't suggets doing it with pump gas, or better yet on a street set up

you are correct with the afr being 14.5 too make more power but he have to realize these are street cars and that is not a very safe afr to be at.I thnk zerk might have reset his ecu so it can compensate for it. Technically like i said the wideband sniffer is off about .1 to .4 becuase it is being read from the tailpipe so in reality his afr are only 14.0 which is still a little on the lean by my standards. i wonder love for it to be at 13.5 which is really safe for Na cars.Usually during these hot and humid weather the ecu usually compensate for this and adds more fuel i dunno what happen with this particular inncident

I think this is the first time I have seen dyno's for this mod. I have contemplated it for awhile, but the crank is a pita to do by myself. Thanks for the info, looks like they do add a bit of power (and also allows the VQ to rev quicker).

You maybe disagree if u like but thats the way i would like cars tuned at our shop 13.9 is not a bad afr to be at for a sentra spec v at wot. For Na the ideal afr is around 13.8-14.0 i just rather it run a little richer up top because i compensate for the weather change also. For boosted application i usually stay around 11.3-11.8
