i have a body shop that will paint your dash whatever color you want for $50 if you take out and install yourself. very easy to do i uninstalled mine took me 15 mins. didnt get it back yet to show pics, but will have this weekend. let me know if any of you guys are interested. they do very good work.

show me pics....even tho i might just want it black and paint it myself.

what color you get yours done in?

but if someone has a black one theyre gonna get painted maybe they can trade me for my gray once since theyll be painting it anyway

i will show pics as soon as i get it back from them. i dropped it off today and he said hell have it back before the weekend and i will def post pics. i got mine painted SS same as my car wv2.

as far as chameleon color i will ask if you would like. might be a bit more as it is prob a PITA paint i have no idea. ill ask him and see what he says. hang in there for pics

chameleon paint is no harder to work with, its still a basecoat/clear coat, but it is expensive as HELL and probably not worth the money for what it is.

definitely interested in seeing pics, i was thinking about this the other day. i paint but i wasn't sure if it was such a good idea, thanks for being my test dummy i bet it will look siiiick tho.

I like the texture. I think ut looks better than sanding it flat before painting. what kind of prep did you do before painting?

the body shop is hempstead auto collision. they are sanding it so there will be no scale like texture. it will be flat and smooth. maybe a tiny bit of texture. well see. for 50 bucks cant go wrong i have done so much to my car just nothing on the inside.

i did a very light sanding just to get off any oils and such. found the paint at autozone, 3 pack, came with base, color and clear. REMEMBER: if you gonna do this mirage color, the more coats the better and more color change you'll get. i did 2 base coats, 6 color coats, and 3 clear


edit: before the base coats i used 3M adhesive promoter
