Ok guys i need some help. My GF got me Yankee's tickets for the sept. 17 game. I have never been to the city before so my coworkers are telling me to stay near times square. The problem is the hotels are priced through the roof for that time frame. I have been looking online, prices range from 289 (hotel is being remodeled) to 500. We are only staying for one night. I will be parking at a friends house outside the city and taking the metro north in so im not worried about parking. Any suggestions on a place to stay would be great and if you got any must see places.... besides the obvious

Prices like that your better off staying in Queens area or Long Island then taking the train in.

or if you MUST be in manhattan just go to a hotel not in times square. That area is very busy, tourist based with bright lights, glamour etc so the prices are through the roof for a reason

Just go to a different part of the city

catch the 1 am train back to your friends and stay there. The city hotels are retardedly expensive and not worth it for the time you spend there.

located in cortland about 30 miles south of syracuse on I81. Taking the GF's car I wanted to stay at our friends house but the Metro North schedule says the last train out is at 1030 PM or something close to that and the game is a 7PM game. I think im just gonna look outside the times square area. Im not sure what is going on the same hotel room is 189 for sept first and its 350 for the 17th is there something going on in the city that week?

parking the Z in manhattan is no problem, in fact, in any of the five boroughs, its relatively safe. be more worried about getting a ticket/towed, then it being stolen, due to the cryptic parking signs written in san-skrit!!!

now, if you said somewhere in jersey, such as Paterson or Newark, then i'd be worried! they dont call it the carjacking capital of the world for nothing!
