Hit a GIANT POTHOLE...HELP (NNJ)
So last night Im driving home on Rt 46 west in LODI where there is a bunch of new construction going on and I hit a massive massive pothole at 40mph.
Alignment is all jacked up and veering to the right, come to find out when i get home, it bent my track wheel pretty deep and my tire was flat.
If i go back to the same spot and take pictures and also get an estimate for the damage AND file a claim, do you guys think NJ Department of Transportation would reimburse me for the damage to my car claiming that the road is unsafe? Reason i say this is because the new construction only allows for two lanes to be open and NO emergency pull of lane.
Or do i go to the LODI twp and file a claim against them?
Any suggestions will help.
Ill take post up pics when I take them.

thats pretty rough dude....yea 46 is pretty jacked up in that direction...i was on parkway south last week headin to AC...theyre doing all types of construction down there and i hit this HUGE *** bump i think it was around the 50's or so...i hit it straight on...it hit it so hard my wipers came on...needless to say i waited for tpms lights to come on and my car to start drifiting all over the place but she handled it like a champ!...not even any tire bubbles!
Oh no,your tire's all flat and junk. Oh did i do that? Here. let me get my cellular out...call you a wrecker...Oh shoot, I got no phone..`Cause i'm a pothole...Soooo.....Kay bye!
I hate 46 lol. Worst highway in nj. It also has the highest fatality rate for any NJ high in 2009. Let us know the outcome because as far as I know, if there hasn't been a previous complaint about the specific pothole, they deny resposibility.
