Vic, unless something comes up, count me in for the 6th. I don't know if I will have the car put away for winter or not. Depends on when they start putting down sand.
On the way home from xxtuning Saturday, I was unfortunate enough to be behind a jeep that must have been offroading. When he hit a bump he dumped dirt bombs that hit my car. The bra helped but the bumper wasn't covered and I got 4 new chips.
Jeff, that back end shot was the one that really shows the height difference. Very nice.

Greg, Sorry to hear that you got dirt bombed. I always cringe when I see other vehicles (construction, etc.) that are dropping bombs. Also, if I can see another vehicles rear tires (usually American made SUVs) I try to maintain a more than healthy didtance even with the clear bra.

Greg, you can really notice the difference in the rear shot (hint: Look at the spoilers, it's not the slight angle that makes the difference.) The P1, P2, P3 buttons are for preprogrammed settings. Right now I have them set as follows:
P1=F0, R0
P2=F8, R8
P3=F16, R16
I'm sure this will evolve to different settings over time as I get the feel for the different levels of dampening. The alignment has already been done, but I'll probably ask them to recheck it on Tuesday when I have my film redone. That way the springs will have had a few days to settle in.

I would love to get the HRE 445s. We'll have to see though. I may go with the I-Forged Aeros or LE37s. So much to think about.

There are wheels and then there are wheels; I have never experienced the level of service that I am presently afforded by HRE.

In the end it's your decision, and you have to ask yourself what your criterions are when selecting wheels.

I am presently working with Bob Hale, the HRE Technical Specialist as to the best method of getting the wheels fixed. I would have to get it off the car first, probably in December through January for the repair work to commence.
You may be interested to know that, when my wheels were being crafted, Bob kept me apprised of the entire process. So I was totally aware of the actual finish date for each stage.
Is that service or what!!
If I can find the post again, about a customer in Japan who ordered HREs’ because of the personal service, I shall post the link.

Gerald, I sent an email to AXIS for information on their wheels but haven't gotten a response. I guess they aren't aware of customer service like HRE is. I am interested in the HRE 540 wheels as well as AXIS supermesh. But if AXIS doesn't show an interest I may go with the HRE's. Thanks for the info.

There is no comparison between AXIS and HRE's as far as wheel quality goes and from what I've read HRE has great customer service. You may want to check with Paul at Avalon Racing as once in a while he puts a HRE groupbuy together and the more buyers he gets the more of a discount he passes along. You definitely will want the most discount you can get as their wheels are pricey.

I would suggest that before you wipe the HRE(s) off, as being way over and beyond your budget you may want to first get in touch with the proper sources, i.e. Bob Hale, Paul at Avalon & even XXTuning (a recently appointed HRE dealer).
Some of my rationales were; Superior quality in materials used, design, craftsman, engineering and customer relation/service in its entirety. Bob would say that I am a tough and demanding customer sometimes quite “****” with regards to some of my neurotic needs.
Here are some of the comments made by Bob Hale:
The 540/540R and 440/440R series are very competitive in their pricing structure for; forged aluminum, aerospace grade materials and custom manufacture 3-piece wheels on the market; encompassing strength and light-weight performance.

Even the valve stem was designed specifically for these wheels!
These are just a few examples... to be honest, a few of the things we have done are proprietary (I have already said too much!)

Axis vs. HRE
You guys, I am not holding out I just needed to slim down my choices. I really was struck by the looks of the Axis wheels but I agree the HREs are by far the better of the two.
Chris - I am looking at 19 x 8.5 front and 19 x 9.5 rear. I got a recent copy of "SUPER STREET" magazine and found these axis wheels.
Jeff - If you go with the 445s, let me know when. Maybe we can get a better price if we go together.
I do like the HREs as well and Gerald has HREs so I should listen to him.
I have all winter to make a decision. I hope to have my final choice mounted by spring.
