Default Dec 6th (Saturday) in Niagara Falls

CORRECTION: Saturday is DEC 6th, not the 3rd.

I'm in Rochester, NY this week, and I was wondering if anyone in the area want to get together for a mini-meet. Upstate New York / Ontario Canada Z's can meet in the middle.

I'm not sure how many of you guys have put your Z's away for the winter, but my proposal is to go visit Niagara Falls (Canadian-side) next weekend (December 6th) for some food/drink/Niagara Falls casino to be followed by some Canadian ballet. Please feel free to post ammendments to this proposal.

Eugene, sounds like you just want to try out those new snow tires. Let us know if you run into any snow while up there. I'd be interested in hearing how your tires performed. Just remember, you don't have a snow plow on the front so stay out of the deep stuff.

Eugene, what size rims do you have, as I am having some difficulty shopping for snow tires for my 18" stock wheels?

Must have missed it, which snow tires are you getting?

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks
Gerald

Hey Eugene, hope you enjoy yourself at the casino, and at the ballet.

What's up bug eye, I heard that you're sending your zee to ballet lessons; I mean with Tein Flex and HRE ballet shoes...you definitely got potential

Happy Thanksgiving

Gerald,

Hello, I had 17" rims, so it was easier for me to shop for tires (225/50/17 and 225/55/17). Since you have a big brake kit installed, it might be a bit trickier to get a correct fitment for rims to clear the brake calipers. If your stock 18" Touring rims can clear the big brakes, then you just need tires, and you should be able to pick up 18" Blizzaks in the stock-correct sizes (LM-22) like people last year. I wanted better snow/slush/ice traction, so I have the WS-50's. You can call Tire Rack or Discount Tire for a special order or Paul at Avalon can get them for you as well (he can order from the Tire Rack). Sears also has some competitive pricing for wheels if you want a quote from them as well.

It has been raining throughout the day, and tonight we are expected to get 1" of snow. Saturday the weather guys are predicting 2-3" of lake-effect snow. I'm looking forward to testing out the Blizzaks.

G, call up my boy Luke at TireRack and he'll hook you right up. He's a Z nut (owns a TTZ) and knows his tires.

As for snow, I have to find a beater quick and clean up my Z so I can sell it.

Whatsup with the whoo jiggilies; are those your elbows masquerading, as twin turbos

Luke maybe able to give me a decent pricing for the 2 x Toyo Proxes 285/35/19, I need to replace my rears; 2 rear drag radials and 4 all weather tires for my 18” stock wheels; just in case I get caught out in light snow and am able to get home

That’s the way to do it Eugene, have fun with your interim break, moving ahead to bigger and better things. But what’s with the North Pole destinations, you aren’t thinking of ambushing Santa before he gets to CT, are you?

I trust that you guys are have a super Thanksgiving weekend

It's a few days until the weekend, and the only responders have asked about snowtires, so I'm calling the unofficial meet off. I guess it might be a bit dangerous to venture out now that the cold has hit. NYS just closed I90 West near Victor due to a fatal accident caused by tonight's snowfall. *sigh* I guess we need to wait until Spring until more Z's are on the road.
