correct they are not separate. About 600 new from a dealer for both sides.

And I'm pretty confident they go bad almost immediately upon install. Every time you go to change plugs its almost guaranteed that there will be oil in a couple cylinders

So what do you do just get new ones and hope for the best or leave it knowing oil is soaking your coil? I was going to order some new ones from Z1 and hope for the best.

When I did my plugs I got new valve covers. There was a lot of oil in my last 2 plug wells before I changed them. About 10k miles later I was putting on my supercharger, I changed to colder plugs, the last two plugs had some oil on them (not floating in oil like they were originally), but there was still some oil present.

I left those valve covers on and just changed plugs. I don't see that causing any failure for me, if anything just a little oil consumption

That blows think I'll get new ones and hope for the best, I only took out that one coil and I think that qualified as swimming in oil.... Now just gotta figure out what else to order at the same time.

You can get some billet valve covers that are still under research. I think they are ~$1300 for a pair

Worth it if it fixes the problem. Nobody has had them long enough to really prove how they function. But they definitely look better.

Yeah I just ordered some oem ones... Im going to park the car for a bit and hopefully get the valve covers on, new cats, diff bushing, sub frame bushings, camber arms, spark plugs, jenner oil, diff oil, and maybe some other things buttoned up before I drive it again...

I started it just to move it to a different spot in the driveway today and was like noooooooooo... If only I could just ignore the problems and keep driving it everyday...

Going to look at a daily tomorrow in Philly. Should come home with it assuming they don't try to hold firm at their $1000 over KBB/NADA price

Its had a hard life, and Massachusetts uses lots of salt on the roads... Hopefully I clean it up and rid my rusty bottom.

Still waiting for you guys to make that thing into a little bolt on, tune beast. Getting walked by a girl in a bug would be the most humiliating thing possible lol

She drives it very easy. She yells at me if I drive it hard, but it was made to go fast! Who buys a 1.8t 5-speed manual bug and doesn't race it?

But truthfully I don't think hers would last to much abuse. I think it is nearing that mark where VW cars basically begin to disintegrate and everything falls apart.

Also an appropriate time for me to add that I got her a custom plate against her will. Much like me, she also tends to not like most people so it suits her. And the Throwdown Performance tag bracket...
