I wish I could get up there, but I already promised my wife a spa day on the 30th. (a happy wife is a happy life!)

Besides, I don't have my Z yet. :-(

I'll be running in the AM Session in ST1 #35.

Just a little correction: this is a WWSCC Slush Series event not an SCCA event. The 1st NWR-SCCA event will be March 6th in Bremerton.

Yeah, that's what I thought. I just copied and pasted the info from another board.

Do we still need helmets?

I'll try and get up there early to watch you run. I'm bringing my camera for sure....this is my first time running cones.

You'll need a helmet to drive.

I don't know if they'll have loaner helmets (they often do).

If you do have a helmet it has to be Snell 95 or have a SCCA certification sticker. I think you can still use a Snell 90 helmet this until the 2005 rulebook comes out. Anyone know about this that has seen a 5 year transition in helmet certifications happen?

Definately look me up if you come early. If I hang around for the PM session I'll be looking for you and root for ya.

Since this event is being run by the UWFSAE, I'm guessing it'll probably be a relatively small tight course. That's what they've done in the past; better suited for FSAE cars.

Looks like registration is just about full for the event and you and I are the only 350Z's running that day. Lateapex will be there but looks like his Z is still being upgraded. I spoke to BA Cutler and he had a prior engagement and won't be able to make it.

Hey PDX_Racer; you gonna be able to make it up for more WWSCC & NWR-SCCA events this year? My wife has a '02 Sentra SE-R (auto) and she's agreed to come out and run it this year in a couple of events. I could use some tips on how to make it better for autoX while keeping it still Stock legal.

I'm hoping to get up there more, I'll need a lot of practice on bigger lots than Portland (although Packwood should be a blast, it was this year!).

What I did to the SpecV should work on the SE-R, except that the spring rates are different (the SpecV springs in the rear are very stiff), and may actually be better in some ways. Koni Yellows all the way around (the rears aren't externally adjustable, and mine are set to full soft because of the springs). Nismo front sway bar gets rid of most of the rest of the weight transfer. The stock 17x7 wheels on the SpecV could take up to 255 width, but I had 245/45R17s on there (plenty of room in the fenderwells -- enough for 255s, but the stock '02-'03 SpecV wheels just aren't up to the stresses of that much grip).

The SE-R has 16x6 wheels, so I haven't looked at what's available, but you should be able to find them a lot easier than the 17x7 (which simply weren't an option until the middle of last year). You could probably get VictoRacer 225/50R16 or possibly even wedge some 245/45R16s on there.

Awwwww mannn... what happened?

176 entrants on a cold rainy January day (registration maxed out), over 1/3 of them were Novice. More Nissans than I'd ever seen at an autoX before, and only one 350Z? (Well, Lateapex was there and so was Mrs. Lapeapex and family)

Don't mind me, I'm just still reeling from the effects of my own cr@ppy performance yesterday. I got 2 weeks to get my act together before the next Slush event in Bremerton.

I'm concerned that there might be something wrong w/ my car, judging from the way it did out there. It appears that the nut between the driver's seat and the steering wheel needs some tunning. Anyone else experiencing this problem? If so, I could use some advice on how to get it fixed before the next local autoX.

Totally bummed I missed it!

I got nixed at the last minute by a bad exhaust leak and a fuming fiance. Granted it was her b-day weekend, but man.

Anyhow, I need some exhaust work done bad...this stupid y-pipe is been more of a headache than anything right now. I'm looking to just slap a borla on now.

You might have seen my buddie's 300Z...Red, TT.

Yup, I saw your buddie's car, he was parked near me, but I never saw him while I was there.

I heard the weather conditions in the PM session were fairly decent, it was raining in the AM session. But you didn't really miss much, I'm not a big fan of running when it's cold and wet outside. The one thing that was interesting was how many people came out despite the weather. We'll see if it happens again at event #2.

Gonna be at the one in Bremerton on the 13th?

Wow. Don't check the boards for a week and look what I miss -- I'd have like to have gone to that one. Ah well.

Speaking of helmets though, are there some good places local to go buy them?

What's/where's the info on the Bremerton one? Sounds like I should be able to make it. I should have me exhaust tightened up by then. I knew I should have just bought new bolts!
(I'm also selling it if anyone wants it....the turbo kits are looking more promising and I'm going to go true dual)

There was a discussion about this on the WWSCC forum, here's the post:
