Default Nitrous questions

What do you guys think of it? How much would it cost? And where would I go to get it installed in the Portland area?

I bet GroundZero could get you hooked up down there. I chit chat with Bryan (owners son) a lot, I also run into him at a lot events. GroundZero is pretty well known and clean performance shop.

As for what I think of it, be careful and don't go absolutely nuts with it. I would also suggest getting a temperature gauge that is more specific then the stock OEM one, that way you can back off if you run to hot.

My buddies just got back from Wyotech, and EVERYONE, absolutely everyone over there with a sporty car (regardless of Japan, Euro, or Domestic), ran a nitrous setup. Big rule of thumb, don't keep it on the bottom for to long.

I just installed my NX kit...cost was around $1,200. (purge, heater, remote bottle opener, window/tps switch, 1 stpe colder plugs, blow down tube...)

I installed it myself, so I don't know how much the install would cost. For safety, get the tps/window switch - you set the rpm range that you want to spray, and it'll only spray in those rpms and at WOT.

love it! except that I was in a car crash last week that totaled my civic...the person who hit us forgot to yeild when taking a left hand turn on a solid green light...my neck is still a bit to sore to drive the Z longer than 15 mins...but I'm just glad that it was our civic and not the Z!

Sounds like there's a few events in Sept around the Seattle area, if you going to any of those, I could give you a ride. (A 75 shot is fun, but it makes it so much more tempting to run a 100 shot...)

How much does it cost to fill up the nitrous tank? And where do you fill it up?

I went to 'honest GM performance' in Federal Way...I think it's around $3.50 per lb - so $35 to fill the tank. There's another shop 'blood performance' also in federal way that charged around $4/lb. (There's probably more shops in the area that can fill bottles, but I couldn't find many others...but I also just moved up here a few months ago)

I thought I remembered Baxter's or Shucks in Beaverton has an N2O fill-up, might try giving either of them a call. They're right across from Cedar Hills mall.

I'll keep that in mind. I actually do not know how serious I am about it. I just don't know how much opportunity I would have to use it. Maybe if fuel costs go down.
