My 1st run was a bit uneasy, I was getting the end to come out in a few places especially after the big 180 left hander after the straight.

My 2nd run felt good, I was in better control but I could not get any power down at that point.

My 3rd run felt good but I was noticing that I was spinning my tires almost all the way down the straight away. As a result I was breaking way too early before the big left hander thinking I might end up over shooting if my tires suddenly grabbed. It ended up being a re-run thanks to timing issues.

My 4th run I decided to try and go beyond the tires limits to see if I could find how far out I could go. Over shot the first corner and it was a mess from that point on. I didn't pick up anything from that run. Other than the course was more slippery than I recalled it from the other 2 runs.

My 5th run felt kind good up until the last cone on the back slalom where I screwed up the braking point and ended up having to turn a lot more than I should have.

So I ended up standing on my 2nd run as my best time.

Okay, here are the Official Standings from our VQ Challenge

Dry Course
-------------- Class -- Best Time
First350(1st) -- IA -- 47.848(Trophy)

Wet Course
---------------- Class ----- Best Time
PDX_Racer ----- TO ------- 52.356(Trophy)
First350(2nd) --- TO ------- 53.206
Drivesolo ------- ST1 ------ 54.611
Triple8Sol ------ NOVP ----- 55.025(Trophy)
DrVolkl --------- NOVP ----- 55.561(Trophy)

Let the Arm Chair racing begin….

I think had it been the original course, un-modified for wet weather and dry conditions; Triple8Sol and DrVolkl would have beaten me. That’s about the only good thing I can say about the rain.

I took a few pics but still haven't taken 'em off the camera. Didn't spend too much time w/ the camera out since the rain was coming in sideways. I'll post 'em (and e-mail full res to Triple8Sol) soon.

WHAT?!?

Okay... since this was a Challenge, there wouldn't necessarily be a winner. But I think as far as bragging rights go; you and PDX_Racer can work that out. I think in a couple of months, once we have some dry weather again. I'd like to have a go at it again.

Oh, I didn't know they handed out actual trophies. I always thought Novice trophies were more of the invisible kind. How do I go about getting that then? I want it badly!

probably too late...I'm not sure what happens to the extras.

One of the reasons it's good to enter into the novice class is that you have a good chance of getting a real trophy - once you enter into normal classes, competition is much harder!

I know the guy that was taking care of trophies. I'll see if it's possible to get yours and DrVolkl's.

Lol...if I had known there were trophies I would have checked my tire pressure!! Oh wait..no I probably wouldn't have...since it was raining sideways...well, I guess I would have at least checked one side of my car!

That course sucked BTW...they should make it more open when it's rainy...too damn tight when it's that slippery.

Thanks for the shots...as soon as my buddy sends me the ones he took with his super nice camera from the back of the truck, I'll post em up. Should be some good "running" shots.

Okay Triple8Sol and DrVolkl, I have your trophies (pictured here next to my Z ). They have a battery and LED in it and flash, heh... cute.

How do you want me to get 'em to you?
