Renton/Kent Valley grows more infamous

Feel bad for the Dodge driver (SRT-4?) but how could he have not seen something like a DOT transportation truck in front of him? The thing is as big as a house, bright yellow w/ flashing lights.

**I should have clarified...I had done street stuff when I was in high school - I've got a lot more to loose now, that's why I do autoX/track days.

I was driving northbound on 167 late last night around that time. I didn't notice anything on the other side.
Someone in a black Honda did race by me probably going over 100. It was very cold and dry out but there certainly could have been ice on the road. Not a good time to race.

"The driver of the BMW that was believed to be racing the crashed car stopped at the scene and was arrested for investigation of vehicular assault and reckless driving."
Great...good way to basically tell people it's better to leave the scene.
OH, and BTW- conditions are NEVER good for street racing. These idiots are lucky the guy in the DOT truck didn't feel anything. Some guy is out there doing his job and now he runs the risk of not going home to his family because some idiots can't take it to the track.

Can't refute DrVolk's logic, however I remember other times like the drive home from the 4th of July Sykart meet and can't help but grin!
Best wishes to the retard and his competition. I'm glad nobody else was hurt.

I heard on the news last night the the guy in the bimmer was the other guy's best friend. I guess that's why he stopped. When I think about it, if it was a close buddy of mine, I would stop too.
But then again... my buddies and I aren't stupid enough to do something like this.

I saw the car on the news.
Looked like a BMW 645. Hmmm..you think mom and dad bought that car for their 19 year old? Nice...I'm gonna call the parents idiots too at this point.
And it looked like it was racing a neon. Seriously....why the hell would you bother?? I get civics and crap trying to race me all the time...it's not that hard to "not get on it" especially on a wet road on a cold night.

I'm really surprised they're nailing the other kid...he at least did the right thing and stuck around. Oh well...such is street racing.

Interesting....
Since we're on the topic of local street racing gone bad:
http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/01/22/str...ing/index.html
This is a recent article out on CNN released yesterday (1/22). Apparently, the individual in the story (Gavin Simcoe) is from Washington State.
