Who's running there Z in Autocross in the NW
I've been checkingout the result pages on the NWR SCCA events and the WWSCC events and I've only noticed 4 individuals that have been running their Z's in regional Autocrosses here in the Pac NW. I know jfutty, johnlotusboy and myself have been to WWSCC events (there is also one other guy that I know of that went to one), but I haven't seen anyone running SCCA yet (unless someone was at the Port of Seattle this weekend).
It's been almost a year since this car's been avalible so I'm guessing that by how there should over a hundred (if not; hundreds) of 350Z's in the Pac NW so I'm wondering how many of you guys are running, have ran or plan to run any AutoX events this year?
Even better yet, how many of you guys are taking you Z's to the track and running in any non-Solo, multi-car events?
The more I develop an understanding of the performance and handling characteristics of this car, the more i'm realizing that it's an excellent platform for road racing. I'd like to see first hand the type of mods that some of you guys are doing to your cars for the purpose of racing and what AutoX classes you're running in. Just looking for an exchange knowledge and ideas.

My l33+ sk33lz are not quite what I'd call anything other than "casual" yet. I practice when I can while driving around, but haven't done anything serious yet. And I have a few more mods I'll probably do to my car.
But I'm very intrigued about the idea of doing some autocross this summer. I need to find out more.

Bubb,
I'm not familiar with what L33 and SK33LZ are. Could you please explain? Thanks. If you want to do AutoX there's on this weekend in Everett.
johnlotusboy,
You planning on going to the Everett AutoX this coming weekend? Been to any since?
Oh yeah, did you buy you cargo net locally or on-line? I'm having trouble finding a local place that sells the right type of net. I'm tired of my stuff always rolling around back there.

The cargo net is oem Nissan, and I want to do this weekends auto-x. Lets see the weather report a little closer to the weekend last time was a little slick.
I also don't have to work the night before, so I should be a little better off this time.

Looks like the weather report is predicting rain for Sunday. I'm hoping that they're wrong cuz I have yet to do an AutoX in the dry this year. Kinda blows, but hey, thats the Pac. NW for you.
l33+ sk33lz = leet skeelz = elite skills... of which I have none.
Coolness I must check these out. Do I just drive up and say I want in? How much is it? Do I need to buy a helmet? Someone there wanna give me pointers? :-)
By the way, Z-Car Club drive on Saturday! You should check it out: http://www.zccw.org/ . Go to the activities page.

O I C, kewl.
I'm sorry to say that I'm going to miss this drive for the ZCCW, I never get any free time when they happen. And this time they're meeting infornt of Younker Nissan, I'm like 5 miuntes from there. I'm so close I could even walk.
I'll be up in Everett this Saturday helping setup for the AutoX event on Sunday and maybe even get some seat-time by running the course backwards.
Anyways, if you're interested in doing some SoloII Autocross you can check out the Western Washington Sports Car Club site (wwscc.org). There's info there about how to get started.
In short, here's are summary of how an AutoX works:
- the events are open to anyone, the 2 major clubs in this area are WWSCC and SCCA-NWR.
- cost is about $20-$30 (depending on the event and if you pre-register or not) you get 3 or 4 runs and get assigned a work assignment
- You need a helmet but they have loaners that you can use
- Bring a car (ie: you Z) that will pass tech inspection
- And last but not least; Drive it like you stole it!
It's really cool, safe, lots of fun and always challenging.
