Default Beware of raccoons.

Just a reminder to watch out at night. I was driving down the highway last night and my Altima Coupe decided to eat an oversized raccoon. Busted the bumper, fog light, and air conditioner condenser coils. Not bad for 65 mph, but had it been the Z, it would have done a lot more. Now I have to wait until Monday to get it fixed.

thank god it's only a raccoon... try hitting a 600lbs moose or a 300lbs deer I didn't but I've seen some photos. I had a close encounter once while driving my way up to edmonton. It was around 2am. Sure did kept me awake until 7am

I hope you got everything fixed... Poor raccoon, I can only imagine the look on his face upon hitting your bumper LOL... sigh*** that's funny!

No, it is still broken, I go in Monday for the inspection. I could get it done today on my own, but if I get it done at one of their places, it is warranted for as long as I own the car. I can't say much for the look on its face, because it was trying to miss the car in the right lane and found my bumper. It sucks, not even 1200 miles on it yet.

Right now, I am looking at $1200 in damages, and that is only if they don't find more when they remove the A/C coils. I might also have to have my muffler replaced over a slight dent in it that might be 1/16th inch deep. The guy told me that they have to bring it back to the condition it was before the accident, and seeing my build date of May 2008, they have to bring it back to like new condition.

Two weeks ago, I had a raccoon scratching at the door of my parked Z. The scratches came out with polishing compound, but it's a good reminder that the buggers don't have to be hit to do damage to your car. I think it smelled some bread I had in the back because I left the window about an inch down overnight.

BTW CAN0802, I live out by Seabeck. I don't think I've seen your Z before. Have you been in Bremerton long?

I have been here since Jan 07. Being on the Stennis, I have seen the ocean more than Bremerton, but I do try to get out and about. There are two blue ZRs here, mine is usually the one with the top down. Stock on the outside, but now that I have it paid off, I will be doing a few things to her.

Well, if you get off the water and it's a Thursday afternoon, stop by Romeo's Bar and Grill on Kitsap Way just before in becomes the Chico Road. There are 3 of us that have Z's that usually are there that day some time between 5 pm and 7 pm. Drinks are cheap and all you can eat chicken wings are free.

My mom once told me, that if you ever see coons on the porch eating from your kfc bucket you should shoot them before they multiply.

One more post like this and you are gone, Tubbs. None of us feels like babysitting the mouth of a grown man on here. No need to reply, just heed the warning.
