Leaving to south, then thru Orting, then back north on 162 to Hwy 410: turn right on Meridian, left at 200th St E, left onto Orting Kapowsin Hwy E, left on Washington Ave N/Hwy 162. Straight on Hwy 162 thru McMillin and Alderton (heading toward Sumner). As you approach Sumner, you will cross over Hwy 410, then turn left onto westbound Hwy 410, follow 410 west to the interchange with northbound Hwy167
Notes:
If preferred, shortly after leaving Illwaco we could turn left on Alt Hwy 101 heading north, which connects back up to Hwy 101 and then we could retrace the fun section along Willapa Bay (again, this would get my vote).
If interested, Cape Disappointment State Park (formerly Fort Canby State Park) is just outside Illwaco. The park has two light houses, the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center ($5.00 for adults, $2.50 for children 7-17) and hiking trails. (See http://www.parks.wa.gov/parks/?selected ... ppointment for further details). Last summer, the North Head lighthouse was open to visitors. The Cape Disappointment lighthouse was closed to visitors but could be hiked to from the interpretive center.
Suggestions or comments welcome (russ_lind@yahoo.com)

Yeah - the drive goes thru areas of the coast. Before the trip heads back from the Oregon coast I'll part ways and head to my home in Portland. This is going to be a fun drive
