another reason I love VTR in Everett
I've been jumping through some hoops with my new hood and getting a strut tower brace that will work.
long story short I ended up ordering a stillen one since it went in front of the plenum, not even thinking about the engine cover or electrical wiring that would need to be rerouted. it arrived with scratches all over the place and it looked like a used piece.. and I would have had to remove the engine cover entirely. lets face it, unless you put some money into dressing up your engine bay, the Z's engine bay is pretty ugly. I really didn't want to lose the engine cover.
I asked Wayne if he thought there was any way he could rig it to work. I asked him this fully anticipating and wanting to pay him for the time he would spend trying to make an odd ball request work. He cropped the engine cover for me, relocated the wiring that needed to be moved, and on top of that, he buffed out the scratches on the strut brace and touched it up to make it look like a nicer piece then it really is. Didn't even ask him to do that. Oh.. and while he was doing it, all of the oem hardware was stripping and breaking for the engine cover, he rethreaded them all and gave me new hardware.
in the end he told me to go home while I was trying to pay him. they are standing by a product that they shouldn't have to and put in some free labor to make me happy with it.
pretty bad ***, far from the only good story I have about his shop, just wanted to share since this entire process was a pain.
here's a shot of how it looks. much better then losing the engine cover entirely

Only the DE's are ugly.
The HR's are a masterful blend of artistic symmetry and engineering perfection. ( other than the fact you need tiny ******* hands to reach anything. )
But I do like the way he cut out the engine cover to make that truss bar work. And over the top support to boot.
Kudos to VTR !!
