Default Washington gas prices - Ouch!

So this weekend I went up to a BEAC Autocross practice day in Everett. The whole day cost me only about $10 in gas; The reason why I say "only" is because it would have been $15 if I hadn't found 5 bucks on course while we were setting up cones.

Yeah $15 isn't a lot of money considering I probably burn up over $100 worth of tires at each practice day. Last year the price for Premium wasn't bad enough that it would've made me complain but this year it's getting hard to ignore. Let's face it;... premium ain't cheap.

I'm somewhat saddened by this. I hate to admit it but I think the Z will see less action on the road this summer only coming out to do the occasional autoX and practice days. I was wondering if this might be a contributing reason why everyone here on the NW forum is a little hesitant to get together for a 350Z meet? Am I just being nit-picky about gas prices or is this putting a damper on anyone else's plans when it comes to driving their Z's?

I feel ya, I pumped 40$ into the Z to fill it up the other day. That was a little steep. I'm trying to stay off the boost but it's not easy . Drivesolo the ZCCW drive is up by you, are you planning to go?

heck, I heard on Rush Limbaugh today that its up to $5/gal in alaska.

regardless, the price of gas wont keep me down, the Z gets better mileage than our G35c auto and than my S-10

If it's not an all day thing and the weather isn't crappy, I'll go. I hate to join the group and end up leaving somewhere in the middle. I'll be in town that weekend but I already have plans on the 29th, but I can squeeze out a couple of hours in the morning.

I know a couple of folks that are in ZCCW and I'll see them on Friday at the NWDE (NorthWest Datsun Enthusiasts) meeting. I'll ask them about the event for details. I'll let you know what I decide. What about you, you gonna go?

Do you plan to run in the WWSCC Champ. Series this year?

I thought the ZCCW was the 22nd. If the weather looks good I plan on going. When is the next WWSCC event? I don't think I'll make it to enough of the events to be competive, but I'll catch as many as I can.

The next event is on June 6th in Everett. There seems to be a lack of 350Z's in WWSCC. I think me and BACutler are the only 2 350Z's there this year.

If you're interested you can come to the next BEAC practice day as my guest. It's free and we usually get as many as 15 runs, sometimes more in a day. I'm sure BACutler and LateApex (BEAC guys w/ 350Z's) would be interested in seeing how your machine does. I don't know when the next practice is, but for the most part it's always in Everett.

I'd like to 'swap lies' with some more Z-guys, so I hope to see you (Drivesolo & 7 eleven) @ a WWSCC event, soon. I generally won't attend events that are on small lots, in iffy weather. Last year, I was running that series, so I went regardless. The SCCA events are at much better sites, so I'm running that series this year. Still, I look forward to getting to Everett in June.

In almost-related news, I'm planning to go to Medford, Oregon this summer and run another Siskyou Sports Car Club event, @ Jackson County Sports Park. They have one event per month, and the site is a big go-kart track, dedicated to karting and autocross.

My routine is to drive down on Friday and return Sunday, at the close of the event, getting home @ midnight. Saturday is open-track practice (one car at a time) all day.

Let me know if anyone is interested.

I will see you there Lateapex. I heard from Enrique today that there's a possibility that we might be able to have a short practice there the Saturday before the event.

I'm guessing you'll be running in Class A - Prepared? BA Culter runs in SA and I'm running in ST1. BACutler is gonna take 1st in SA (my prediction). I've seen you w/ the Mustang so I know that you're gonna leave the rest of your class in the dust. Me.... I'm liable to get beat by a stock Focus or an old SAAB, just one of the unfortunate realities of running in an indexed class.

Actually, I've been running in Open Street (SM2), because I was planning to install a set of aftermarket a-arms; so, I've been getting waxed by Dieter (and others). I've made some significant changes to the car since our last outing (Yakima), so I expect to close a lot of the gap to the real OS cars.

Now I have brakes that work (I think), the KONIs and lots-o-camber.
