Default 30K maintenance.

I'm pass my 30K and wondering if I should just let professionals do the 30K maintenance? What do you guys think? I know the dealer charges $500 for it, any idea others will charge?

Pls. let me know.

Thanks!

Mark

I'm nearing 30k also. I would take it to Rob @ Zcargarage. That's where i'm going. You won't be dissapointed.

I was there yesterday for an oil change, and I asked the exact same question. He said it'll be around the $350 range (don't quote me on it though).

From the service guide, the 30k "scheduled" mantainence is :

Oil Change
Oil Filter (new)
Air Filter (new)

Everything else is just "inspect" ... ie: check brakes, check fluids, etc...

isn't $350 a bit steep for an oil change?

Just got my 15K service from ZCG yesterday. At first I was going to do it at Nissan but they were charging me $299! So I called Rob and he has the "checklists" the dealerships go through when they do scheduled maintenance. He follows the checklists line for line as with the oil change, filter, etc.

He charged me labor for the time he spent on my car and made some recommedations. The dealer will charge you $300 whether they spend 1 hour or 3 hours. I don't want to quote prices for ZCG so lets just say what I paid wasn't even close to $300.

Thanks ROB and ZCG!!!

Doesn't look like it, according to the check list...

the list is on The Other Forum and you can see there for 30k service, the do an oil change, and just basically "check stuff out" and make sure there aren't any problem areas.

I would change the transmission fluid. Even if it doesn't say to, I would cuz next to the engine your tranny is your bread n butta. I had a crapppy Daimler car previously and trust me if you can change it early and it prolongs the inevideable then go for it. I wonder if I need mine done.

isn't $350 a bit steep for an oil change?

This depends on whether you are preforming:

Schedule 1 Maintenance

Schedule 2 Maintenance

Premium Maintenance

Look at page 25 (under premium maintenance)of your Service and Maintenance Guide that came with your car.

I also have the complete Factory Service Manual on CD but it doesn't list most of the stuff in your book that came with the car. It just has a general schedule for all cars.
