Question Good Price For Spring Install?

Hello all,

I wanted to know if $349.00 is a good price for installing Tein S-Tech springs on my 2004 350Z.

Does that include the price of the springs?

Either way, that's a bit steep. If it's $350 for installation alone, that's a rip-off.

That is just for labor no springs included. I got this quote from zcargarage. I figured $349.00 was a little high.

You might want to double-check. They usually give their pricing in ranges so that you know the worst case scenario (e.g. 1-3 hours). In most cases, they never charge that unless they really run into issues which is highly unlikely.

GTNPU Z,

I spoke with Rob at zcargarage and he quoted me that price with an estimated 2-3 hour install. And he also quoted me an alignment for $239.00. Dealer only charges $169.00 interesting....I'm not saying that zcargarage is a bad place or anything because I heard nothing but good things about them. That is why I called them first.

specialty garage (Z, Bimmer, Benz etc) made more money than teacher, doctor, police $120/hour rate? common..oh well..it is the cost for driving "brand name" car.

drifter23...I can't really speak for ZCG but all I have to say is talk to Rob. If you feel the price is too high, then ask him why. I'm sure Rob will be more than happy to explain & break it down for you. They're an excellent shop & I'm confident they can work something out with you. Keep in mind that they don't necessarily guarantee the lowest prices. They do, however, guarantee high quality work. I guess you can say they lean more as a high-end shop specializing in Z's.

if u go with z car garage u will be getting excellent quality work. They may be a little pricy but trust me u wont have any issues with the suspension setup. They take teh time to do it right the first time. That way u dont have to go back again. Id rather pay someone to do it right the first time rather than pay someone who did it for cheap and be having to go back to fix any problems that may arise.. I havent had to go back to zcar garage for the same problem twice. Come to think of it i havent had any problems with any of the mods that they do. They do the best work and the staff is so so friendly and so professional.

Dude I called for ya and he will do install for $250. I don't know how good that is but at least it is a lot less than the other guy.

drifter23-

I got my eibachs installed for $120 up in San Bruno at a performance place.... However, I got my alignment at Zcargarage.

My alignment was waaaaaaaaaaaay off after the eibachs. My ride was really, really rough not to mention toe-in eating up my fronts and camber in the rears. Rob has a special alignment guy that fixed it all and now it rides like new.... The dealer quoted me $129.99 for an alignment BUT I doubt they would've done the same quality work without having me buying parts and other crap..

Just my 50 Cents.

Its funny hearing people whine about 350 suspension mod. you spend 30 or so K on a car what do you expect? I think that's a good price and matter of fact when I get rid of my suspension and go to the Tein EDFC i will look no where else but them. I had a Dodge Stratus, the shop i took it wanted 200 to install the springs with no alignment. On a Stratus!. So the price you got from Zcar sounds good. But its your money so it doesn't matter what anyone tells you. Good luck with your "cheaper" price.

Remember you get what you pay for!

Your must be right, Scott Performance does lousy work cause it is cheaper there. Don't get springs done from them even if it is $100 cheaper because they will fall off when you are doing 95 mph down the freeway or when you are going fast on a twisty road. You are better off going to ZCG because it is the only Z performance shop around, even though SP has been here at least 20 years longer and the main experience Ted has is with high performance exotic cars. But you must be right, barthelb, because Ted is $100 cheaper so it makes sense, right? RIGHT?

Hey...hey...hey. Let's not start a ZCG vs. SP thing or any other shop vs. another shop for that matter. Different shops have different views of how they will run their business whether it's customer service or pricing. Some consumers will have bad experiences with one shop & some will have great experiences. Point is, go with the shop that YOU feel most comfortable with. In the end, regardless of what ANYONE says, YOU will be the one paying for it & benefiting from the final results. In the case of ZCG & SP, I know that BOTH shops are excellent in what they do. I may lean towards ZCG but that doesn't mean SP completely sucks (& vice versa) since I've met good people whose had great experiences with them. It is simply the INDIVIDUAL'S preference. PERIOD.

Need I say anything else.

I never said anything about SP. I know there a pretty good shop. I just hope he doesn't go with another Performance shop like bobs performance and get a hack job.

BTW, Where did I say I was interviewing people for a shop. I don't need no resumes. Geeez.
