sorry to hear of your troubles james.
at least its in the country tho and not floating on a boat somewhere.

i would go with your plan of picking up the kit and bringing it to the shop yourself. altho make sure you inspect it b4 taking.

if you can't borrow a truck.... uhaul has pick-ups for $19.95.
and you can also rent trucks from lowes as well.

good luck!

For that much, I think what they're doing is blending it with the rest of your car (which means they'll be painting other portions of your car). So long as the shop uses the right paint & does it right, they can paint the kit seperately just like Bubble's car. His looks perfect IMO. So check with them & ask if they are blending with that price tag. I'm sure they are since that's the same pricing I got when I first was looking around. Pricing should be around $1K-$1500 for a good paint job on your kit.

Also...Update:

Distributor contacted me & said the check is in the mail so my kit should be on its way pretty soon!

Ya that was for blending, but they were telling me b.c. the Daytona Blue is tri-color there is no way to match it and it will be off by a few shades, I want it to look right so I dont know what to do. Prestige in Fort Lee said they could take a computer image of the paint and match it that way, quoted me about 1800 for that.. =/

I'd ask Bubble since he also has a DB. He got his painted & it looks like a perfect match. Saw it in person. I heard one of the key things is they have to use the right paint. Bubble, wasn't the paint you used called PPG or something like that?

they just BS with you. DB only have one element in it. Typical price should run from $1200 to $1500 for whole kit. They will match 100%. Make sure to ask them to use PPG paint.

Hey Ravi,

I'm Filipino . Yeah, Harold & Kumar was a strange but funny movie. It was funny when Doogie Howser showed up. I was like WTF?!? LOL.

My Vertex kit is coming in today!!!

Going later this afternoon to check it out & pick-up that bad boy! Now the strange part is, now they are saying my Blitz Wing is delayed after saying they had it already . They said another 3 weeks but that's how long they said it would take back in March. You think they had it but just sold it to someone else? That's what I'm thinking. At this point, I'm just happy my kit came in. I can deal with the spoiler later but yet...more crap I have to deal with yet again. I'll keep everyone posted as usual.

Thanks for checking in!

Thanks man. Yeah, I plan on doing the whole thing. Well, guess I'll have to wait for the spoiler now but I'm definitely going to start working on the Vertex kit & JGTC style hood .

Well, apperently the truck that was suppose to deliver it didn't come today so they told me it should come tomorrow . Oh well, I've waited this long...what's one more day.

Sweet, I originally wanted the Vertex kit, but too rich for the wifes blood. She ended up getting the Nismo kit for me. Beggers can't be choosers, right

It's 12:30 & I'm still waiting for a call/email that my kit is in .

I really can't wait till all this is done & over with. This has bee a very long & frustrating experience.
