Sunnyvale Bike Wreck
Hi everyone,
I've never driven a bike but I had a horrible experience with a blue Yamaha R6 last night. We were both on Remington Dr and I was in the left lane and he was in the right. We pulled up to a red light on Hollenbeck Ave and I was checking out his sweet bike. It didn't even have tags yet. I later found out it was only one week old.
I knew he wanted to race me. I took off in my 350Z kind of quick and by the time I got to second gear I heard him down shift and his bike rev hella high. Next thing I know out of the corner of my right eye I saw his bike fly up in the air and he fell off the bike. His muffler flew right in front of my car and into on coming traffic. Thankfully he wasn't hurt, I think he landed on his back. His helmet wasn't even scratched but his bike was pretty ****ed. The front axle was completely gone, the only thing holding the wheel on was his brake line. Most of the body in the back was gone but the sides looked pretty good. Fluids were leaking everywhere.
I am very thankful that he was alright and I don't think I’ll ever street race again. The outcome could have been allot different. A cop drove right by us but we didn't flag him down because we didn't want to get them involved. I gave the guy my phone number and made sure he was alright and then took off. I just feel really bad so I was wondering if any of you know this guy. He said he lived down the street from where he laid the bike down. He must live near Mary & Remington in Sunnyvale. He looked to be in his young to mid 20s. I think he said he was in the medical field? Any contact info would be appreciated.

glad his ok, speaking of bike crashes i witnessed one right before my eyes on 101S jus passed the airport couple months back..
im driving about 80 minding my own business and all of a sudden a bike flys by me followed by a white SRT 4.. they must have been doing 120+, when they flew by me that kinda shook me up..
at this point the bikes tailout was now just a spec of light.. i wanted to see the action soo i speed up and try to catch up.. the spec of light starts getting bigger as i close in and theyre prolly 100 yards ahead of me..
all of a sudden the spec of light went from the carpool lane all the way to the right lane real quick and all i see is sparks everywhere up ahead.. im thinking, WTF is that!? i slow down to about 40-45 as i come up on him, i can see his bike still skidding sideways on the right lane followed by sparks..
i saw the biker on his knees, one hand on the pavement and one hand to his chest crawling onto the shoulder.. i stopped right behind him in the right lane till he crawled safely onto the shoulder than i pull over on call 911. the srt-4 driver was nowhere to be seen.
i stayed till the cops arrived and told them what happened.. at first they thought i was the one street racing wit him.. stupid cops!!

If you see an accident and pull over to help, the cop might accuse you of being involved.
You tell them the story and they call you a liar, wtf...

In general, IMO, the Sunnyvale cops are pretty mellow. I think they are called Public Safety Officers. and they serve under the "police" dept. and "fire" dept.
Nevertheless, you all be careful in Sunnyvale... I've noticed the cops tagging speeders more. On Wednesday, saw a biker cop tag two cars within 30 minutes in front of Denny's/CD Warehouse on El Camino (5:00 pm). Also, saw a patrol car parked in the median on Central Expressway right before the Mathida (north) exit around 7:45 am.
