Shasta becomes a huge Datsun driving event, and everybody does a lot of waving, except for some of the Roadster guys, who seem to think that 510s somehow aren't good enough. The year I went, I tried talking to one guy in town about his car, and he couldn't be bothered. Though a number of other guys were real friendly.
I feel your pain! Are you on the bluebirds list? I tried to unite the 510/roadster crowd but there is too much drama between them. I've attended both events since 2001, I usually drive up to Shasta twice in 1 week to attend both since the shows separated...so please don't generalize roadster folks. The same "arrogant" or "snob" persona can be applicable in all car groups.

Regarding Infineon, I heard that they lost power and they had to cancel, is this true?

Regarding dragging my roadster...I joined the ZCG crew at Sac raceway last year and Infineon for the first time back in April '05. I had a blast! It's great group of people, especially this "350ZTNR" character with automatic Z that allegedly runs faster than most sticks

So yeah , bring your LZ229 with a dogleg 350z transmission, dual Dellortos, knife-edged crank, swiss cheese flywheel and what not.
What did it dyno at? I'd be surprised if you ran under 15 secs in the 1/4 mile.

That would be 2NR not TNR but it is close enough. Always driving with the top down in your.....er.....car and getting hit with all that wind, bugs etc could have diminished some of your cognitive power thus causing that type of error.

We missed you out there Alvin! Speaking for myself I missed talking to you. I have always appreciated a guy who can lay down a good line of Bull$hit
espically a guy like you that comes off like a cross between an evangelist and Hulk Hogan. There were people who came out there last night just to see those cute little doors of the convertable blown off. (does that have roll up windows or side curtains??)

You lucked out........long way for you to go to get shut down early. I guess some car.....probably a roadster of some sort hit a pole and knocked out the power to the track.

I'm glad they convinced me to go to dinner. Had a great time! also very funny to hear Sean bitcn about a lousy 13.7

Take care, Walt

Walt, Sean, how did you do?
Just curious, was there a white w/black stripe Datsun roadster there?

Sean and I went. Sean was *****n about his 13.6 runs, I did a 13.9 against an Evo heads up and beat him. the next round I missed a shift (with 5AT????) Sean was still there and I don't know how he made out.

Didn't see any white old car with black stripes.

I have a Lombard St posters of the RR/TT meet for next ZCG drag meet. AJ send me a PS file to enlarge and print for you guys. We are running out of time. they close the first week in Nov.

Anyone know when the next one will be?

13.6??? What was the trap speed? Was this with test pipes?

Walt you beat an EVO that is cool. You actually manual shift the 5AT?

I don't recall what his trap speed was. somewhere around 101- 102 or so I would guess. That was with the test pipes, and plenum spacer and cooler.

He turned a 13.4 before those mods though.

Yes, there is a manual gate that shifts up or down. I shift right before redline.
If you keep it in drive it shifts too slow. that's what I did and then shifted it back into manual mode on the fly. Still turned 14.7 arggggggggggggggggg.

Loss of concentration. they had us waiting and I jsut forgot to take it out of drive.

11-9 would work for me as well. I'd love to get Alvin's rear end explosion on tape. Lol !!
Nefews are here from Denver. So next week is better for me. However, I am also up for this meet if it happens this week.

Everytime this crowd gets together something happens.....

Kaboom ....... Actually, we have been really lucky. The cars are holding up really, really well!!!

Sean, it was good seeing you there tonight; I was soooooo close to winning-but I finished 2nd. (on the last run, I dialed in 14.7 and ran a 14.700...but I was trying to adjust my launch rpm and was caught sleeping at the light w/ a .5 reaction time) Hope your job went well tonight.

That's awesome! It's real hard to make it that far as there are some tough competitors out there. I hope I can make it next Wednesday!

Are we going to have the last ZCG meet this Weds? It is supposed to be clear. I'm going anyway, since it is the last meet of the season.
