Reno-Fernley Sun May 28th
Hey guys, checking in to see if any of you are going or want to go to this event. It's being organized by Northern California Racing Club. If you are a first timer with the club this event will only cost you ~$125 with the 33% discount. Check the details here. I'm alreay signed up.
I'll be there for the whole weekend since it's going to cost me a good wad of money just driving to the track and back home. Fortunately, I have a friend who lives in Reno, and he's letting me crash there. There will be two Z's (mine and a friend's). We'll probably be driving in the group 2 (4 groups total) since neither of us are familiar with the track. It looks like a fun track; lots of what looks like tight turns + esses.
How is the track run? CCW?

Nice, I'll be sure to say hi if I see you there. I got an instructor this time just because I've never done this course before. Hopefully the novice group won't be crowded. Not sure how the track is run.
The track is indeed run counter clockwise. I've run it twice, both times before they added the whole back section. The shorter version that I ran was a blast, very fast with no scary walls.
The new section is all hilly and looks to be much more technical and low-speed. There are a ton of configuration possibilities as well, so you could be running any number of them.
As was told to me, the track facilities are like Thunderhill was 10 years ago -- no permanent structures to be found. Make sure you bring some chapstick, it can get windy and that desert sun is unforgiving.

I've done a search on google videos, and haven't run across any videos of the full track. Dave indicated that we're going to run config H in the morning, then config A (full track) in the afternoon. Then, we're going to vote to see what config we want to run on Sunday.

Jason (blue elise) took a video of Config H. You can find it here:

We did Config J in the afternoon on Sunday. Both were great courses, and I had a blast!
