I was actually skeptic about ticketassassin in the beginning, but gave it a try and it worked. $25 membership beats paying couple of hundreds of dollars in fine.

Anyways, goodluck with whatever you plan to do.
I did this too, worked for me and I just got another ticket so i'll be using it again.

Cool

I know me and a few other z drivers just recently got a speeding ticket. I know for a fact that to be eligible to attend traffic school, your speed can not be exceeding 25 mph over posted speed limit. I'm thinking about going to see the judge and reducing my fine, and still attending online traffic school.

Good Luck

Ok, as much as I hate to admit this, I used to get tickets all the time. I'm 25, got my license at 19, and have had 4 speeding tickets, and MANY times being pulled over...

I've paid for a lot, and I've gotten out of a lot... I've wised up a lot, and I've learned a lot. One thing I've learned, spend the $6 and go buy a Vehicle Code book from the DMV. I have one and keep it close by all the time. I can cross reference the violation numbers I'm cited for and read the fine print, learn to manipulate the way its written (its EXTREMELY literal... use that to your advantage)... Its helped a lot..

So, on the terms of your ticket..

1. Its your first ticket in over a decade? Dude, don't sweat anything at all.. You're allowed to do traffic school once every 18 months. It prevents the point from going on your record. You will still have to pay for school, it won't be totally free, but not a big deal...

2. The ticket violation is your first ever, and you've been driving a while. Ticket prices are NOT fixed... Thats bull****. Ticket prices vary on MANY things, one of them being your past record. Two of the tickets I received were both for going 84 in a 65 (on the freeway). The first time I received this citation, it cost me $198 (this was my second ticket).... The last ticket I got (a year ago) was the second 84 in a 65, and after all was said and done, it cost me $525... Yeah, that hurt.. Why the drastic change in cost?? Well, the ticket between these two was a 103 in a 65. This one resulted in a $678 fine and a temporary suspension of license. So, the violation amount will vary.

3. Like many have said, go to court, PLEAD GUILTY. THe suggestion above about drawing out the process for weeks/months is great, but its an old idea, and cops are getting wise to it. They don't HAVE to extend it.. They can give you a whopping week extension if they really choose.. So don't bet on that. Your best bet is to go to the judge. Plead guilty. When he asks, tell him you had a rough day at work, and you were blowing off a little steam. Its your first ticket in over 10 years, and its clearly NOT like you to drive in such a manner. Opt for traffic school, and you'll be set.

Honestly, I'd bet that you get out of the ticket for less than $200, not including the price of traffic school... Oh, and the beauty of it all, you can do traffic school online...

Any other "I got pulled over...." advice needed, just ask.. I've been popped for it all... Heh, someday I'll tell of the time I got pulled over in downtown SF for street racing, drunk out of my mind. (No, I don't do ANY of this anymore... too many close calls... I've grown up since then)

Let see, speed contest, exhibition of speed, speed unsafe for conditions (late night, dark), speeding, reckless driving, DUI, unsafe lane change, no signal for lane change...... There was more... And I got let off that night, at the scene.
