Anyway to make a long story short I got caught... Im a big boy now and I know I have to eat it... Things you must know... This is my first speeding ticket and I have been driving since I was 17 (now 30 - not to bad if you think about it
)...
So my questions is:
Speed limit is 65, the ticket says I was doing 95... Will this cost more than $500? (Not including the increase in my insurance premium)
Oh yeah I was on I80 W between Vacaville and Fairfield...

My guess is your looking at a $510 ticket.

Oh yeah care to share how you came up with that number... Is there like a formula for it somewhere?
Thanks for your reply...

yeah. one time i got stopped for smoking my tires (display of accelaration) and when i went to court the judge dismissed it because according to new tx. law i was supposed to be placed under arrest. Go to court and eplain to the judge and he might give you a brake or reduce price.

Try a writen declaration using ticketassassin.com, cops usually don't like to write a report. I used them and got a ticket dismissed and bail refunded.
I was actually skeptic about ticketassassin in the beginning, but gave it a try and it worked. $25 membership beats paying couple of hundreds of dollars in fine.
Anyways, goodluck with whatever you plan to do.

sorry to hear that Ritz...
Time to get a radar detector buddy....
When I got mine I just paid the fine (court appearance was not mandatory)and went to online traffic school so it doesn't show up on my insurance record.
Let me know if I can help....
I'll buy you coffee, cheer you up, give you your wheel back...

My suggestion...
Since it's your first speeding violation, go to court and ask the judge to lower the fine and attend traffic school to prevent the point on your record.
If you don't wanna pay the fine....
Wait til you get your courtesy notice and look at the due date. One week before the due date, call the court and ask for the maximum extension. Show up to court on the new due date and schedule a court date. Show up on the first court date and plead not guilty. You'll then be scheduled a 2nd court date. If you have an option to pick the latest date, pick that instead. Show up on your 2nd court date and pray that the officer doesn't show up to plead his case. If he doesn't, congratulations. You've just won by default. I've used this method three times and it worked in my favor.
Good Luck!

When I got a ticket in CA for doing 90, I asked the cop if the fine was going to be any larger because of the speed. He said "No, anything from 66 through 99 mph is the exact same price. The only difference is whatever county you're in. i.e. San Mateo County's fine for 66 to 99 is $178, while Bumcrap County in CA may be $300 for that speed range.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone... It all helps... I already spoke to my insurance... The raise in my premium is going to be $13.00 every 6 months... So Im cool with that... All I need to figure out now is how much the ticket is going to be... Im thinking I should just save like $500 and I should be OK...
