Default New transmission replaced

Got my transmission and clutch replaced today. I'm always weary about the dealership because they might take advantage of a female. How can I tell that they actually replaced the parts? How long does it usually take them to do it?

Thanks,
D

I had mine done at the dealership and it took less than four hours. I told the service manager I wanted to see the old parts when they completed the job because I needed to "verify the part numbers for my records." Everything was done as stated on the invoice and i'm still running strong.

I got it done in Sunnyvale. Got it back yesterday and had to bring it back today!!! Getting out first gear wasn't too smooth. Car felt like it was bogging, a little shaky or gonna die out on me. Is this because it's a new tranny and clutch and I need to break'em in?

I'm sure they did the work for you; they may be sketchy at times, but they're no Jiffy Lube. The clutch engagement point may have moved, causing your bog because your leg is used to a different spot for the clutch to engage. You could ask them to adjust the clutch pedal for you if it feels incorrect.

I got my transmission replaced last week, and I could feel the difference when shifting into 5th and 6th. And the grinding is gone.

Please tell me the dealership you went to doesen't start with an F and end in an E. I had serious problems with them. Just my personal experience. Hope all turns out well for you.
