Alright, so i've been kinda MIA a while again. I've been having some pretty shitty car issues. First it had the horrible exhaust leak on the Y-pipes. easy fix, new Y pipe is on. The car idles fairly rough, moreso than normal. With the cobb accessport tune on it it intermittently threw a CEL (would come on then flicker off, then on then off. was weird as ****).. Pulled the code which gave me p0301 (misfire cyl. 1) Nissan told me it would probably be a spark plug or coil pack. plugs were changed MAYBE 20k ago, so i swapped the possible bad coil pack to the other side, turned the tune off and drove it. The misfire seemed to stop, but the car still idles rough. I ended up just replacing that coilpack just for good measure. Seemed to actually get a little better. Now the car idles almost normal but still rough. idle-around 2000 rpms it rumbles a lot exhaust-note wise. then after 2k and up it sounds normal and fine. Seems to be lacking a little power too though. Still breaking in the 4.08's so i haven't really gotten on it much. when i replaced the coil pack i checked for vacuum leaks, none. I got under the car to listen for any exhaust leaks from the header/cats and none it seems. My driver side cat is pretty bashed up from being scraped being lowered. Yesterday driving home, I noticed my oil pressure indicator was showing really low pressure. I let the car cool and checked the oil but the oil was really high. like half way up the dipstick far passed the high mark. I've kind of reached my breaking point and about to just say **** this car. any thoughts before it gets driven off a bridge?
also, when driving its rpm is fine, but coming to a stop, sometimes it will go low, way past idle (600ish) and drop down to like 200, then come back up to 600. idk wtf!
stats: 2003 touring Z, 77,7xx miles, oil changed every 3k miles, never goes below 1/4 tank of gas, all the exhaust leaks have been fixed no vacuum leaks, stock tune.
Mods: JWT pop charger, berk z-tube, kinetix plenum, dc headers. "true" dual exhaust (hard to explain what it really is) from the cats back. oem 4.08 fd gears, jwt clutch and flywheel. Had the Cobb stage 2+ tune on it for a while, which i took off when i put the cats back on to smog it. turned it back on for a while to raise the rev limiter for the 4.08's.

Maybe none of that helps, maybe it does, who knows? Just my two cents. Good day ser.

It helps a lot, thanks! I will most likely change out the plug in cyl 1 since thats where the code was. I already changed the coil pack and it helped some. I'll also look in to the throttle body. Working for a dealer, i get cheap parts and employee labor rates so i'm sure it wouldn't be too bad. I did notice after cleaning my TB it actually seemed to help some, so it would make sense that could be part of the issue. I'll have to check nissan and see how much they wanna *** rape me on the part vs how much i can get it somewhere else haha

The issue with the throttle bodies are usually the sensors not the actual throttle body itself. Nissan wanted about 220 or so for me so i went with kragen but if you can do better go for it. Install is cake so do it yourself. You gotta pay for the relearn though. Han lee has the cheapest rate for me so far at 115 but most dealers will price match each other.

For sure. 115 to relearn seems kinda steep, hopefully they'll do it cheaper than that haha.
Also... here's what was going on that has me sketched out. happened again today (at idle)

I dont really understand the strategy of guessing and buying parts that you might not really even need to replace...pretty much all electrical sensors can be tested with a simple multimeter.
My bain concern at this point is why the fawk your oil was reading up half way up the dipstick...The misfire and throttle body would be the LEAST of your worries at that point lol.
Was the oil milky at all? any bubbles? Maybe you didnt wait long enough after killing the motor to check the oil?

K did a little searching, and i THINK you have an 05 right? i cant remember. If not just go back on Nico to find the right FSM, but i doubt its much different unless you have a rev-up or HR which im pretty sure you dont.

Check page 416 for relearn procedure and diagnostic, there is some stuff in the earlier pages you might want to go through but i guess in order for relearn to occur when installing a new TB is just driving the car for 10 minutes. It gives you the option provided you dont have a consult 2
Check into the idle air stuff too, might help.
Sorry if you already looked, just trying to help

Ill check that out myself i have to relerarn on my TB here soon when i install it and id rather not pay anyone to do it if its simple. I pulled TB codes for my fail i was suggesting the part for the other guy as you can quickly swap it and if its indeed not the problem, you can return it to kragen for a refund. They really dont care much. As for meter testing thats cool too.
Silly question about the oil. Did you wipe the dipstick before you inserted it back in the car and checked? I know dumb but curious

Funny coincidence, the reason we went up there was to check out the CABIN we rented for our wedding this summer. HAHA! It too was legit. Only two stories, but baller out of control. I scored and found a person that knew someone that owned a cabin up there and I get it for the whole weekend for just the cleaning fee. We gonna party like it is 1999.
I hope you put that hot tub to use.

Yea. Amazing how the temp cools off up there.

According to the SAE every 1000 ft above sea level you lose 3% power in your motor. The only way to alleviate this is forced induction. Sac is at roughly 100ft above sea level. Tahoe is roughly 7000ft. Just a thought.

I'll tell you though, it sure had an impact on my body though. It has been a long time since I was up there last. My chest felt heavy until I got back to the 4000ft elevation level.

No, but you can only go so fast through the twisties on the 50 side on the way up and once I got to the 80 side to go home, it was all down hill.

And i was still smoking cigs, FML
Speaking of which, its official i just threw a perfectly good pack of smokes in the trash, im not looking back.
Wish me luck guiz
